Another nice day in BC yesterday. I thought it would be interesting to try a regular compared to an infared shot. Obviously this requires two cameras. I left the tripod in the same position and tried to frame both cameras as closely as possible to the same view. In post processing I did two versions of each image (ie the regular colour digital shot and the IR image). So you see four images. Regular digital, regular IR and then a black and white version of each. The titles will clarify whats what.

I was too impatient to wait any longer to try out the IR filter so I held it up to my digital camera. This was on an overcast and rainy day. Trees look nicely white as does the lanterns.

I loved this image because of the one tree that pops out. It really caught my eye. I added a texture to make it look a little older. I shot this with a Nikon D80 with an Infrared filter.

The horizion lit up, colouring the majestic sky in beauty. The birds follow, leading her away, to hide to sleep to rest the beauty within. The river slowly and steadily floats the day away. Xx

This is what happens when we get our hands on an Infared Camera. I intended this to be a self-portrait but the sheer volume of button pushing to save a file on this camera completely ruled that out. So Fred just took this picture of me instead.
