Inbetween jousts, the contestants played kill games, like spearing rings of fire, and stabbing the (imaginary) explosive bloated corpses of dead pigs.

Inbetween:Dumfries Seminar is presented in association with Intersections (public art research group – Newcastle University). Inbetween project is a nationwide action-research project with events happening in Dumfries, Hexham and Pontypool – looking at the role of culture in the identity of small towns (ie ‘inbetween’ an urban and a rural context).

Inbetween each rib on the keel are a couple of copper rivets holding the first plank. I thought these were broken screw heads from remove spacers. Wrong.
