a supposedly improved and more polished mrs. sunny-side-up :) If you don't see it, she's an egg yolk and the lace collar of her dress (or all the lace trim) is the egg whites. I put this one in black and white to get a different feel, and to eliminate the problem with the transfer of colors from paper to camera. Personally I like it better in black and white :)

During the “Boom: Wish. Improve. Motivate” summit, Young European Ambassadors organised an EU quiz, followed by comprehensive feedback on its answers. They also organised a photo session with the winners of the quiz and distributed information handouts on EU-funded opportunities for youth, including the YEAs initiative.
The Delaware Donation Performance Improvement Initiative through Gift of Life has increased Delaware’s organ donation rate to the highest in the U.S. For 10 years, the donation rate in Delaware had been relatively static. Secretary Landgraf and the Medical Society of Delaware asked hospitals to be open to improving that rate, and they were. Gift of Life set as a goal moving from a conversion rate of 57% to 65%. In 2015, the rate in Delaware jumped to 66% and for the last quarter of 2015 it was a whopping 79%.
Gift of Life honored those partners on April 29 at a ceremony at the Medical Society of Delaware. Health care systems and other organizations honored were: Bayhealth, Beebe Healthcare, Christiana Care Health System, Nanticoke Memorial Hospital, Nemours/A.I. duPont Hospital for Children, Saint Francis Health, the Medical Society of Delaware, Delaware Academy of Medicine/Delaware Public Health Association, DHSS, Delaware Healthcare Association, Delaware Nurses Association and Delaware Organization of Nurse Leaders.
“You have made a promise to do more and to do it better,” said Christopher Schimpf, hospital services manager for the Gift of Life Donor Program.
What those statistics mean is that Delaware is saving more lives through organ donation and transplants. In 2015, there were 62 donors in Delaware (a rate of 66 donors per million population -- highest in the U.S.) and their donated organs went to 159 transplant recipients. Secretary Landgraf thanked the hospital representatives for “advancing the most precious gift of all, the Gift of Life.”
Delaware has more work to do -- there are almost 650 of our friends and neighbors in the state on the waiting list for a transplant -- but the initiative shows what we can do when we have a plan and carry it out. Gift of Life will be presenting details of Delaware’s clinical initiative this summer at the annual conference of the North American Transplant Coordinators Organization in Orlando.
At the recognition event, attendees heard from an organ recipient, Mary Coyle, a librarian at Downes Elementary in Newark, who has had two separate kidney transplants. She received her first kidney transplant in 1990 and needed a second in 2013. Transplanted kidneys last for about 20 years. By 2012, she said she was losing steam. “I was mentally and physically drained.” In a paired transplant, her husband donated his kidney to someone else, and Mary got one from a man in California who was a match for her.
Attendees also heard from Andrea Haritos, who donated her son Cecil’s organs after he was shot and killed in 2014. She said it was easy to donate her son’s organs because “I didn’t see them.” It was more difficult to decide to donate his eyes and bones, but it is reassuring to know her son’s organs helped four older men to live. “It is such a gift,” she said, encouraging others to become designated donors. “Being a donor at any age is important,” she said.
Thank you to all of the donor families. You truly have given the Gift of Life.
To become a designated organ and tissue donor takes less than a minute online:

Vastly improved scissor kick towards the end of the exercises. Notice how the fin flexes during the movements showing resistance and hence propelling the diver forward.
The purpose of the construction was to improve the quality and to enlarge the capacity of mass transportation to Barrandov housing estate and neighbouring area and to replace unsuitable bus transportation. The solution of high-capacity transportation will contribute to the development of the Barrandov area which is now limited by the mass transportation situation. The area is extremely suitable for urban development. Certain finance has already been invested to provide engineering lines in the area. The area includes Barrandov, Barrandov housing estate, Lochkov, Slivenec, Holyně and Klukovice. Transportation needs can be satisfied only with a high-capacity rail track with sufficient overkill. The use of a tramways is also beneficial with regard to the environment. Also, the dependence of mass transportation on the capacity of the main access road (K Barrandovu Street) is removed. The road is overloaded with motor-vehicle traffic which is constantly growing. A potential preference of mass transportation buses is also hardly feasible due to the location having insufficient width. The traffic can only be eased after the external road ring is put into operation.
My project meets project goals by improving the photograph through the use of light. The light is frontlight and is at the front of the subject. The light creates the shadows on her eyes and it illuminates her cheek with little dots.It creates a shadowy effect, that makes the light stand out more.
I produced this image at the playground by my house. it was a sunny day and my subject knelt on the ground behind the playground. The light shone through the holes on the playground reflecting below her eyes, on her face. The light also reflects behind her on the rock wall creating the shadow of the bars behind her. I did a good job on the difference between the lights and the shadows, but i could've had some more light on the right side of the photo.
JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – Some of the state’s most remarkable students gathered March 10 for the University of Missouri System’s annual Undergraduate Research Day at the Capitol in Jefferson City.
In total, 59 students from the university’s four campuses discussed their work with senators, representatives and other visitors. Each student was selected in a competitive process and recommended by his or her campus, including 30 from the MU campus; 10 from UMKC; 16 from Missouri S&T; and three from UMSL. The students shared their research from a variety of disciplines including criminology, biology, education, engineering, and political science.
"Research has been fundamental to the University of Missouri since it became a land-grant university more than 150 years ago,” Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs, Research and Economic Development Hank Foley said. “Research exposes students to the wonders and possibilities of research and innovation, and helps develop them as future scientists and entrepreneurs whose discoveries could result in new businesses and jobs, and improve the quality of life for Missourians.”
With research core to its mission, the UM System accounts for 96.9 percent of all research conducted by public universities in Missouri.
“No other public higher education institution in the state provides undergraduate students with the breadth and depth of research opportunities as the UM System,” Vice President for University Relations Steve Knorr said. “Giving our students an opportunity to showcase their work at the state Capitol with their own hometown legislators spreads the value message for higher education on a greater level.”
The UM System is one of the nation’s largest public research and doctoral level institutions with more than 77,000 students on four campuses and an extension program with activities in every county of the state.

Improved intersection lighting and line markings, Highway 4 was also widened to accommodate a dedicated left turn lane. This new lane will help local traffic access the Whiskey Creek Store and other local businesses, while keeping traffic moving freely as well.

Improved Power Supply. Had gone around the top 3/4 inch of a Glad snack container and cut in space for the lights. Gave unsatisfactory results. Larger container so more lights. Added second strand bound together and fanned out in a circle up against the cover gives much more light and even a similar light pattern to the movie. Cover is cut from the center of a piece of round plastic canvas. made a respectable grate like cover. Happened to luck out in that there are 10 lights in a strand and 10 lights on the device in the movie. I'm making much use of the official website.

Earlier this year, I grafted an 'Improved Duarte' Plum scion onto one of our Plum trees. The scion is the stick with the wax tape wrapped on its top and bottom. I normal do Whip & Tongue grafts, but because this limb was very vertical, I decided to do a Cleft graft. Well, it turn out really well... So I'm going to continue doing Cleft grafts since they are much easier to do.
