...but what does it DO?

Lawrence and Gisela Rhone have worked with NRCS on projects to improve their existing shelterbelt, plant new shelterbelt, and irrigate the trees to improve wildlife cover in the area. They have also worked to install a high tunnel. Their goals include growing their own food, sharing with neighbors, and inviting Veterans in crisis to their property for healing through support, service, and getting back on the land. Lawrence and Gisela themselves are beginning and historically underserved farmers. Lawrence and Gisela Rhone property, Daniels County, MT, June 2022.

The 5 X 5 Exhibition is a temporary installation comprised of various design concepts expressing contemporary issues in landscape architecture and environmental design. The goal of the exhibit is to help improve outdoor environments at The University of Texas at Austin campus by exploring and experimenting with alternative solutions to the university's vernacular landscape. The exhibition will take place in twenty-five 5'x5' raised concrete planters at the northwestern corner of the Harry Ransom Center (HRC).

Currently, these planters are neglected as a result of the challenging site conditions including: inadequate sunlight, lack of permanent irrigation, poor soil conditions, and shelter any natural precipitation. In response, the ASLA Student Chapter hosted a design competition housed within the School of Architecture encouraging students to propose expressive alternatives and sustainable solutions to this challenging site. Thirty-nine submissions were narrowed down through a jury of faculty members to twenty-five proposals that each received fifty dollars to install each design concept.

Ultimately, the UT Austin ASLA student chapter hopes to work towards a long-term solution for this challenging site. In the meanwhile, the temporary exhibition will bring attention to this neglected place on campus and help improve the university's awareness of how landscape architecture students in the School of Architecture could become helpful resources in future campus improvement projects.

The exhibition is on display through May 8.

This work shows how I progressed in my art. At first I could only scribble, but I accepted the imperfection and then kept working. Over the years I practiced more, it was never perfect, but I kept improving. That is why it is important, not to be perfect, but to learn, keep working, improving, accept your hard work and imperfection.

AC repairs and services can be quite expensive but the good news is that it doesn’t have to be like that. Regular car maintenance can save you money. There are multiple factors which affect your car AC’s cooling power such as where you park your car or how well the parts have been maintained. You can take various steps to increase the efficiency of your car’s air conditioning & decrease the likelihood of a system failure.

The Rougue is good for minor modifications. There is two VCOs, but the control is quite limited. The modification over here adds following features: Two dials at right side controls the PW of oscillator 1 and 2. Dial at left controls the PWM from the LFO. Switch at the middle selects the waveform for osc1 and the original switch at right is for osc 2.

Managing Water and Land Resources for Sustainable Livelihoods at the Interface between Fresh and Saline Water Environments in Vietnam and Bangladesh

The project had five specific objectives:

1.To enhance their understanding of livelihood changes resulting from regional resources management and farm-level technological interventions.

2.

To assess the impacts of agricultural and aquacultural land and water uses on water quality, aquatic biodiversity, and inland fisheries.

3.

To develop ecologically friendly and socially acceptable techniques for rice and rice-aquaculture production systems.

4.

To develop decision-support tools and an institutional framework for integrated multipurpose management of a dual fresh- and brackish-water regime to meet the needs of diverse water users, without an adverse impact on users and the environment outside.

5.

To enhance human resources capacity and develop recommendations for resources management at the farm and regional level.

I remade an older sim, Hoku'ele, and the result is what you see before you. The original Hoku wasn't "bad" per se, she just lacked that "extra oomph" to make her special. There were some slight changes to the facial structure from the original, but mostly I just updated the genetics. I really like this one, especially her nose.

And NO, I'm NOT obsessed with this hair at ALL. Where would you ever get an idea like that? /sarcasm
