SAN DIEGO (Jan. 29, 2021) Carnell Butler, a U.S. Navy retiree, receives a coronavirus (COVID-19) immunization card after receiving the COVID-19 vaccine on board Naval Base Point Loma Harbor Annex's Admiral Kidd Catering and Conference Center Jan. 29. The vaccine is in distribution phase 1b to include all dependents and beneficiaries 75 years and older. Phase 1b includes the following:
Active duty and front line essential workers that includes the education sector (teachers and support staff), Child & Youth Services staff, personnel working at depots and shipyards, DoD corrections staff, DoD post service staff, DoD public transit workers, and Commissary and other installation food service or agricultural workers. U.S. Third Fleet will coordinate with active duty and front line essential workers commands to schedule vaccinations. To combat undernutrition in young children, the Government of India relies largely on the Integrated Child Development Scheme (ICDS). Begun in 1975, the scheme provides health and nutrition education for mothers of infants and young children, along with other services, such as supplementary nutrition, basic health and antenatal care, growth monitoring and promotion, preschool non-formal education, micronutrient supplementation and immunization. The 13th Vaccination Week in the Americas (VWA) will be celebrated from April 25th to May 2nd, 2015. The regional slogan for VWA 2015 is “Boost your power! Get vaccinated!” Vaccines are weakened or killed pathogens that help your immune system fight diseases. Vaccines do not make you sick, but prepare your body to fight off disease when exposed to full strength pathogens in the future. During the period April 1 to May 30, 2019, 15,796 doses of measles-containing vaccines have been administered by health authorities to kindergarten to Grade 12 students.
Saroj Devi a 20 years old woman along with her 18 months old child, attends a vaccination camp organized by Mission Indradhanush at a village in the Gaya district. Her son was left out in the earlier vaccination row, but now she tries to maintain the vaccination record which keeps the track of her immunization status. Mission Indradhanush was launched by Union Health Minister J.P Nadda on December 25, 2014. It aims to immunize all children against seven vaccine preventable diseases namely diphtheria, whooping cough, tetanus, polio, tuberculosis, measles and hepatitis B by 2020. The Ministry will be technically supported by WHO, UNICEF, Rotary International and other donor partners. Mass media, interpersonal communication, and sturdy mechanisms of monitoring and evaluating the scheme are crucial components of Mission Indradhanush. UNICEF has taken the initiatives to take on the campaign and make sure to immunize every child who had been left out earlier. The mission foresee to immunize children from 65% to 90% under this mission.

The purpose of the information systems station is to show how better access to information can help improve the performance of vaccination programs. There are several good software systems that you can buy, use, or adapt for to help with functions including stock management, immunization registry, and equipment inventory. They vary in functionality, complexity, cost, and flexibility.
The left-hand panel of this three-part banner features data that can be collected at the point of vaccination or in an immunization registry. The middle panel shows the kinds of information that can be collected in a stock or logistics management information system. The panel on the right focuses on equipment inventories and temperature monitoring systems. Having this kind of information allows you to address equipment failures more quickly and identify supply chain problems.
Optimize has also produced videos of six information systems that can be shown at this station. The videos explain what is possible and how information systems can make your job easier.

Village Samho, Samho Block, Dist. Begusarai, Bihar, INDIA. Ritu Rani, Auxiliary Nurse Midwife (ANM), immunize a child inside Anganwadi centre in Begusarai, Bihar. Social Mobilisation Network (SMNet), a UNICEF-supported initiative which mobilizes the community at every level village, block, district, region, state to get their children immunized from basic diseases as part of the governments routine immunization programmes. SMNet was started essentially in the 2000s as part of the government's anti-Polio campaigns. SMNet officers thus operate at every level, starting from the village level (where there's a Community Mobilisation Coordinator, typically belonging to the village), to the block, district, sub-region, and region, where there are corresponding mobilizing coordinators for every block, district, sub-region etc. SMNet is premised on the idea that people from within the community are the best ones to mobilize others in their people be it their village, their block or district. But this is where officers such as Bijay Ranjan prove that familiarity is merely an added advantage to the mobilizing process: the real trick lies in effective communication. It is this that made SMNet successful to the extent that SMNET Bihar officers have gone on mobilization drives to other states such as Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh etc. Although SMNet started as a tool to fight Polio campaign, over the years it has transcended its original definition, and become a pool of human resource that can be realigned to any other social/developmental goal. In fact, as of 2015, exactly a year after the WHO declared India as Polio Free, the SMNet is busy tackling diarrhea, malnutrition, hygiene and breast-feeding, all of which are critical to keeping Polio at bay. Immunization in India continues to be an ongoing challenge.

Health-care workers in Edmonton and Calgary are the first Albertans to be immunized against COVID-19.
Sahra Kaahiye, a respiratory therapist at the Glenrose Rehabilitation Hospital in Edmonton, and Tanya Harvey, an intensive care nurse at the Foothills Medical Centre Cell in Calgary, were the first to receive the COVID-19 vaccine on Tuesday, December 15, 2020.
“Yesterday, I was on-site to see the first vaccine doses arrive in Alberta – now, about 24 hours later, we’re already administering the vaccine to front-line, critical health-care workers. The speed and efficiency shown in coming together to make this happen is remarkable. We will not stop our efforts until everyone who wants a vaccination gets one.” said Premier Jason Kenney. Grace Sollender is a junior at Dartmouth College double-majoring in Biology and Spanish. She’s from Greenwood Village, Colorado, where she graduated from St. Mary’s Academy. Grace is particularly interested in the intersection of preventive medicine with public health and also wishes to learn more about healthcare disparities, especially within Spanish-speaking communities. To this extent, she is interested in attending medical school and pursuing a Master in Public Health (MPH) after graduation. She is a Presidential Scholar at DHMC where she is involved in a project that seeks to improve the quality of care provided to families whose babies are at risk for or have Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome. On campus, she is also a teaching assistant for chemistry lab and works as a Spanish drill instructor. She plans to study abroad in spring 2014 in Buenos Aires, Argentina, with the Dartmouth Spanish Department FSP at Universidad Argentina de la Empresa.
