On the other side of the country the time zone difference was enough to moderately screw with my sleeping habits. I was bored and testing out the hotel ammenities ha!
The two beasts in the center of the tapestry seem to be a composite of other mythical and real creatures.
Looking east across the Lincoln Memorial's reflecting pool. The white obelisk is the Washington Monument; behind it is the Capitol. Washington DC.
This is a famous carving by Kano Tanuy, who made the images of two elephants after reading about them but without seeing what they actually look like. That's why they were called The Imaginary Elephants.
