A qoute by Helen Rowland

There is a place in New Mexico, above Taos where Georgia o'Keefe, and her pals lived together. There is this one tree with a bench about 15 feet in front of it. Supposedly if one lays down on that bench and looks up at the tree one will be seeing the exact compostion that she saw and had in her mind when she painted her tree artwork.

I treated it differently as I started with a photograph, and then used both Photoshop CS2 and Painter IX on it to arrive at my final work. One needs to look at hte larger sized image to fully see what I saw/did!

Pimped Picture 55b Removed colour cast from image then removed background and smoothed out the cut edges around the body to blend with the background so cut out visable then some burning in work to bring out shadow detail on the body then softened skin and cleaned up complexion also a little sharpening work done on the eyes and the stockings also enhanced body shape around the legs and arms to give a smoother more curvy appearance then hand drawn new background with floor area creating perspective to give a solid floor then added body shadows and additional lighting detail to give body the illusion of 3 dimensional belonging then added fill in flash to pull the eye into the models face then added several background marquee's to give shadow and depth to the image finally converted over to black and white with added film grain to replicate ilford 400 film. This was done as part of flickr group Pimp My Pixels.

I couldn't help myself. It was either this or a cyclops. I like this one better. Cyclops is played out...ofcourse so is the three eyes....but this is better.

8x10 analog print on archival paper. Color darkroom experiment with stacked negatives - black and white imagery with color texture. For a "before and after" experience, the pure b&W version of this is in my photostream.

Two years ago now I made a little Processing script to average sets of photos, and a few weeks before that I started a photo-a-day project, where I was careful to get as close to the same angle as possible.

As an exception to my normal rules of Flickr uploads, this photo is very much edited. And in a way that has been done a million times before. I still like it and thus wanted to share it with you.

I took it with the 70-300 from the observation deck of Empire State Building. I've only edited color, contrast and brightness.

Rain drops on a Juniper. I was making a contrast mask for the color original of this image, when I got to the invert stage I thought I liked it better! Further tweaks applied to the inverted layer and discarded the original layer.

Made this kaleidoscope with GIMP on linux OS.

Awww, just having some fun.

I had several versions of this image but ended up picking the one that is the same color as the next photo. Go figure.

This is my living room at night. Its a little monotone and since I dont have any windows in my living room it's dark as hell. I want to repaint in a mint color so I took this pic to www.photoshop.com and changed the colors to get an idea of what it would sorta look like. what do ya think? Should I repaint?

Another pair from the last wave of dahlias before my Mom took the rest down ahead of further frosts and freezes on the horizon for us.I have used Photoshop, layered and masked to soften and minimize the distracting garden background. Late afternoon skies gave them this typically beautiful soft light, which was enhanced, colorwise, as well.

Done using Corel Painter Essentials 4 in the style of the Impressionists

Use Paint.Net 3.01 to create this image. The bronze horse is masked out and applied with motion blur and the rest of the image is remasked back in. I am trying to create a "moving" horse inside the display case. I am still a novice at this presently because I can't seem to get the legs "moving" faster with multiple image, while having the body of the horse blurred and have the shadows "casted" right... Oh well, some project to do in the future.

I was going for the spooky black demon smoke leaving the body through the mouth look, à la Fallen.
