3x6" each, enamel paint on wood, magnets on the back to hang on the refrigerator! Support local artists, support small business!! A little sign painting goes a long way...

Guy's brother will be house sitting while we're away so we've been trying to fix all the little quirks to the house that we've noticed while we've been here.

One of which was the stove which was labelled with a solitary "H" when we arrived and which we have figured out through trial and burnt garlic breads.

Today I embraced my inner Amy Sedaris, grabbed my label maker and set to. Marvel at the results!

then my boyfriend, and my bestfriend.

They're sooo cute!

this is actually day 78 :) i had a photo up before which claimed to be day 78, but i changed my mind and decided it was lying, because it was a bit boring. and i was right to think that because nobody seemed to care much for it. like myself.

favorite things about being alive: singing, laughing, hiking, hugging, kissing, playing guitar, listening to other people play music, reading, doing things for people, surprising people, making people feel special and loved. best feeling in the world.

music, poetry, art, love, kittens, discovering things, exploring things

being spontaneous, photo excursions, and most definitely writing

the smell of dark rooms

skeleton keys and creaky wooden floors

really old leather furniture, the way my dad's t-shirts smell, waking up early

back scratches, my brother's sneezes that could wake up the entire neighborhood, being looked in the eye when i'm not expecting it

book shops with cats, attics, candles

trees with exposed roots, seeing how in love my grandparents are after so many years, time capsules

i like you.

i like you too.

Pages from the Amy Sedaris book

Me, trying to affiliate with someone as they struggle to pack their gear so they can rush into the next room and sign a bazillion autographs. You're welcome!!

Thank U niciaaaa :)

It's the nicest gift for the Child's Day I've ever got !

It brings smile at my face and I feel young right now :)

One of our guests brought a Jewel cake, home decorated with the "I Like You" and red and green maraschino cherries. The "I Like You" is in reference to the new Amy Sedaris book (see the caption under the meatloaf photo) and the red and green cherries for the xmas theme of the shindig.

Do they not make fudgeos in america? I cant find a photo of them on the interwebs... they are sooo yummy.

Amy Sedaris was at the Durham Armory last night (10/20/2006) signing her new book "I Like You: Hospitality Under the Influence".

"I like you :)"

Just a simple touch

Reality breaks, time stops

There is only us

Christina: We just about break even. We're never in the red. Every month we start at zero again after we pay rent.

Fritz: Budgets for the show are usually like fifteen dollars.

Christina: We're able to sustain ourselves in this totally minimal way.

I hate this...... i madeit have big lips and a button nose ...

The sound of music makes me feel like dancing

The sound of music always makes me jive

The sound of music makes me feel so alive

The sound of music makes me jive

The sound of music

Got the groove alive can use it

But deep inside I feel the music

A-burning deep inside

Oh, the sound of the music

Feel the groove alive it can use it

But deep inside I feel the music

A-burning deep inside

Love you like the sound of music

Have a nice day FLICkR!

Brownies for my holiday dinner party tonight. I used the recipe for Aunt Joyce's Brownies in I Like You by Amy Sedaris and topped them with peppermint buttercream, melted milk chocolate chips and crushed candy cane.

94: Recipe from I Like You by Amy Sedaris. It's a chicken breast stuffed with chevre, olive oil, tarragon, chives, basil and parsley, and sauteed. I rubbed the outside with garlic salt for added flavor, and made balsamic roasted cauliflower to go with it. It was really good! I think I would've enjoyed it more had I not fabricated a whole damn chicken to get to the breasts to make this. My food prep II final is on Thursday and that's the main part of it--fabricating a chicken and doing an frenched airline breast. I am nowhere near being able to pass. I've practiced cutting up a chicken at home twice so far, but I know it's all wrong. I have noooo idea what I'm doing. I can get it all chopped up into 8 semi-recognizable parts, but I can't figure out the airline breast, and I honestly have no idea what I'm doing. I hope I get it figured out before Thursday because if you don't pass the final, you can't pass the class. And I'm not exactly loving it enough to want to retake a class if I don't pass. Ugh, I guess we'll see where the wind blows.

This photo isn't artsy or witty, it's my Halloween costume this year. You wouldn't believe how hard it is to find a light gray suit at a thrift store. If you don't know who this is supposed to be it's ok. It will be worth the 7 people who get it at Halloween parties this year.

Another person sitting up on the stage asked her who she was cheering for in the baseball game and gave her a hat to cheer for Cleveland. I don't know how much clout she has in the sporting world, but it was still a lovely gesture.
