It’s not an easy task, to try to put an entire country’s legacy in just one capsule. What would I pick if I had to summarize all of Colombia’s culture? My answer is simple. More than fancy objects, architectural jewels, or our shiny gold (that we didn’t get to use anyways); Colombia is all about feelings. I would try to share our ways through emotions, through real expression.
Most of the things we enjoy the most are intangible, almost magical. Our culture can be experienced with the heart, more than just with the mind. Our stories are told, in a way we can’t really tell the truth from myth. This is what the illustration represents, Colombia is colorful chaos; it is violence and love; it is football and friends; it is music and laughter.
One of the most accurate ways of describing Colombia is using the words of the historian David Bushnell: Colombia, a nation in spite of itself. Colombia has truly flourished from a past of extreme violence, and has kept its joy, its courage and most of all, it’s never ending passion; for family, for friends, for love, for life.
La fotografía no sólo se compone de las características de la propia cámara, sino también del ojo del fotógrafo. Éste tiene que estar preparado para buscar en la realidad que le rodea la geometría de la que se compone. La simetría, como canon de belleza en la actualidad, siempre está presente en nuestro entorno.
La simetría también se da en contextos diferentes al de la fotografía. Por ejemplo, las personas no podemos entender la vida sin un momentos de calma y tranquilidad. Situaciones que dan estabilidad y nos permiten desarrollarnos en otras facetas que requieren tiempo: hobbies, nuevos conocimientos, etc.
En esta fotografía se observa una de las simetrías más difíciles de conseguir en la arquitectura: la vertical. Valiéndose del agua, es posible obtener escenas tan bonitas como la de la toma, donde se observa el Ayuntamiento de Bilbao sobre la ría que cruza la ciudad.
With tech giants such as Google, Apple, HTC, etc. investing so much in Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality, it is not hard to conceive that soon enough humans will all be trying maximize their interaction on a virtual plane wherever possible. With VR headsets coming up as cheap as 12 euros, great many opportunities will open up. Classrooms and business meetings can be held in a virtual setting. We might even start organizing events and parties in the virtual world.
Pregunta k: Uno de los objetos que pondría en una cápsula del tiempo para mostrar el legado cultural de mi país sería la camiseta de la selección peruana, ya que el fútbol es uno de los deportes que se vive con mas pasión en mi país.
Esto se ha demostrado con mayor fuerza en este último año, donde la selección de Perú tras 36 años de no clasificar a un mundial, ha logrado esta vez un puesto importante con la esperanza de llegar al mundial de Rusia 2018.
Por otro lado, es increíble ver como un país se paraliza para alentar a su selección de futbol. Hace mucho tiempo que no se vivía un ambiente tan eufórico en Perú. Incluso se ha podido observar que este evento ha superado de largo a otros como fiestas patrias o navidad.
Finalmente, solo nos queda un partido de repechaje contra Nueva Zelanda para estar definitivamente en el mundial, pero sabemos que sólo lograremos un buen resultado manteniendo nuestra humildad y perseverancia que ha demostrado nuestra selección de fútbol durante esta última etapa.

Through the years, swimming has taught me teamwork, motivation, hard work and achievement. The respect and rapport I am able to build because of swimming is truly invaluable. I swim for a lifetime.
