Idea leuconoe, the paper kite, rice paper or large tree nymph,[1] is known especially for its presence in butterfly houses and live butterfly expositions. It has a wingspan of 12 to 14 cm. The paper kite is of Southeast Asian origin, but can also be found in Northern Australia and Southern Taiwan.
Larvae feed on Parsonsia species, Tylophora hispida, Parsonsia helicandra, Parsonsia spiralis, and Cynanchum formosanum[2] so both the butterfly and larva are poisonous.

One of my attempts at the "Macro Mondays" theme "New".
While I got the feeling that I learned a few things over the last couple of years as far as photography is concerned, I‘m afraid to have reached a point of stagnation when it comes to making music. That‘s why I absolutely want to work on new ideas for compositions and try to do some real musical experimentation in the upcoming year.

" Rice Paper butterflies, also known as Paper Kites or Tree Nymphs, are found in Malaysia, Taiwan and the Philippines. They are a common species found in lowland rainforests and coastal mangrove forests. These large, striking butterflies have translucent white wings patterned with black streaks and spots. Their patterns serve to warn predators that they are poisonous. Their flight is slow and graceful, and they may rest with wings open or closed...."

One shot from my walk around Dartmoor today. I've not been down this spot before, those familiar with Dartmoor will probably have been around this area though. I had a lovely time, Walking from the car park on the main road to Princetown, up to Leeden Tor then across to Swelltor Quarry and Kings Tor, I'd noticed this area on Monday evening and didn't really have time to go and explore it.
Swelltor Quarry is one of a whole group of quarries located near Princetown and Tavistock in west Devon that includes Foggintor, Kings Tor, Crip Tor and Merrivale and a quarry near to the prison in Princetown. Granite from Dartmoor was used in many places. Near to the Swell Tor quarry there are still twelve corbels carved for (the old) London Bridge for the purposes of widening in 1902. There are also the remains of the blacksmith's workshop and traces of the railway.
Swell Tor was one of the larger quarries in the area and was operational until the early 20th century. Stone from it was used for the Thames Embankment (1846-47), Alexander Binnie's new bridge at Vauxhall in London (1903) and the Bristol Waterworks (1902). Although employing up to 90 men before the First World War it closed in the 1920s. It briefly re-opened in 1937, but after 1938 it has not seen any major workings.
I have no idea about this bridge though, it passes over a main cycle/walking path and leads in to private property albeit with a public footpath though it.

Four Santa Fe EMDs were hauling ass through Lomax with a westbound auto rack train back in 1995.
Yellow-bonnets and searchlight signals were the order of the day and then some misguided folks got together and thought that merging the Santa Fe and the Burlington Northern would be a good idea.
And that was the beginning of the end.

I had no idea what I was going to do today for a photo, and then a bulb lit up. Literally. Tesco had some awesome filament bulbs, so we bought a couple. This is not what I envisioned, mainly because I wanted it to be my hand because I knew how I wanted it to look, but I could not figure out how to trigger the shutter because my IR remote is not working. I think I was just too tired to get it perfect.
