Cooling tower power plant

Please view large

It was snowing couple of times this year, but barely saw it at Niagara Falls (melting). I remember the icing world of Niagara Falls year ago… Searched my archived photos, just by watching these photos, I could feel the icing cold, remembered my hands numbed, eyelashes iced together, camera died due to -28C, could not touch tripod… 😉 It was very cold that year, even the water sprays were frozen in the air... Most of the Niagara Falls were frozen except horseshoe falls which flew forever. The Niagara river was covered with the thick ice, but the power flow from the horseshoe falls was still on… it never stops!

It was sunrise, but the sun was blocked behind the clouds, very light morning colors. On the right corner, you can see the observing platform which was covered with icing… the photo of this platform is here 😊

Lyme Regis Dorset Uk. The tide was on its way out and the gale was abating when we finally made it down to the beach. This was the first time my camera had been out of its pouch for months --- felt great!!! If not a little difficult to hold it steady -- I abandoned the notion of using a tripod as it was a tad too windy!

In a few weeks I may be able to walk on it. We shall see how the season develops.

Last night felt really cold, so cold I decided to light a fire to keep warm. So this morning I understood just why it was so cold when I opened the blinds and saw the mountain dusted with snow!! First snowfall of the year.

No swimming today!

This is a more unusual view of the Cauldron falls in Rannoch Moor at the start of Glencoe. The falls where iced over in parts and I liked the contrast between the flowing water and the static ice.

Taken from Oxbow Bend in October, Mount Moran looks somewhat like a cupcake without icing because there is so little snow on it at this time of the year. Beautiful autumn colors line the Snake River below.

Blue hour was taking over the scene there in West Virginia as night ended and the stars were fading.

Glazing in the trees and sections of the river freezing over as well. Captured while hiking around in Gunpowder Falls State Park.

An icy start to Spring here in Maryland.

Happy Birthday to Torrie!

A coconut butter cream icing, on a giant yellow cupcake with a lemon surprise in the middle.

First I ate a slice from the front, then a slice from the back, and suddenly realized that I had a category called cake......so I hurried for the camera, took a bunch of shots, and then I ate the rest.....

Close-up of frost on a window (with blurred Jack pines in the background). Lots of frost, as it was very cold, about -17 C or +2 F.

If winter was a cake, this would be the icing.

Near Maple Lake, Minnesota...such a pretty scene.

It's looking decidedly wintry here in Maine, after fresh snow last week and frigid temps over the last few days.

Thank you for visiting!

Just another Alaskan scene. On the road to Seward.

Sometimes the shallow waters of Espoo Bay get first thin ices already in October. However the early ices melt away soon. The photo is taken in Laurinlahti beach,

Pond just off the Soda Creek Road

Blencathra - Quite a few folks up there .. perhaps I should have too!

I couldn't decide which I liked better so I posted both - this one is more interesting (I think - view large) but the pt 2 has more contrast. Same photo just different colors.
