2017 has already brought us a mish-mash of snow, rain, ice, warm & now cold temperatures!!! Looked like one of my bird feeders was turning into a little prison with the icicles getting longer & longer by the minute! Poor little birds! (Best viewed Large"

An early winter with snow has created a gallery of icicles on my roof,

In my language, the sun of a very cold day is called "Sunshine with teeth". If you look in the larger view, you will see the icicles up, on the tree branches.

Several days after a big snowfall, sunlight was melting snow, but if the trickle of water went into the shadows it quickly froze. I found these icicles on a rocky outcrop above Gregory Canyon, between Green Mountain and Flagstaff Mountain Boulder, Colorado

A stack of two shots to get foreground and background in focus.

It has been very cold (down to -6c) for several days and we've had the unusual occurrence of seeing icicles form off our conservatory window ledge.

Cool day near Arrowtown on New Zealand's south island

Interesting play of light on icicles. The yellow rays of the rising sun illuminated the ends of the frozen water under the dark old railway bridge. Winter in all its glory

Another sign that winter is all over us is seeing icicles all everywhere, but then again there is a good chance that snow will disappear over the next hours here is PA, we will see...

The misterios and yet friendly wren. Many mornings I hear them singing in the back porch of the house, usually in the same spot with is a metal hook for hanging flower baskets. The funny thing about the wren is that they live inside my grill during the winter months. It is so funny to see them climb the little metal little pot as an elevator, and then jump inside the little whole where the tubes that run the gas are. Since I keep the gas tanks closed all the time, they are perfectly safe. I tell them " Hi neighbor"" when the windows are open, and I should add that they are the perfect tenants since they never leave food, feathers or any type of garbage inside.

If you want to know more abut the wrens, here is place to take a look:

And here is a neighbor that many people love, specially Pennsylvanians since he was born in Latrobe, PA.

The best part of this forum is the contacts and friends that I have made over the years, that have the same passion for this art that is called photography!
