Fresh picked wild blackberries...so GOOD!

This is what happens when your model cancels. I needed to work on my still life anyway.

BTW the lens ID is incorrect in the EXIF; it is actually a Sigma 105mm macro.

Since the end of the summer is fast approaching and my last day on the Centennial Summer CA job is Friday, two things happened tonight. First, I held an end-of-the-summer ice cream social for my summer school students. It's odd to think, but people actually showed up! I guess the free allure of free ice cream was too much to pass up for some people.

Then there was the really fun part. Since I'm a summer CA, I got a meal plan included with my payment, and this meal plan includes FlexDine. People use their FlexDine on things like Jamba Juice, Starbucks, U convenience stores, etc, but seeing as I only used it like three times over the summer, I still had a lot left over. As an end-of-the-summer bash, I decided to clean out my FlexDine account, order a mess load of Davanni's food and have a party at Argyle. It was nice to contribute back to the people who have fed/sheltered/entertained me many times before. It's still hard to believe that CA training will be starting so soon though.

Random Side Note: 100 Days Left!

other people at our table got bottle openers, pizza cutters, and melon ballers. so cool.

i got an ice cream scoop for christmas. it's heavy, rather futuristic and completely ace.

the best ices you could ever taste come from this ever so yummy ice parlour

Please excuse the model... I turned on my camera and shot a pic of myself without even looking at the--the flash was pointed up. Turns out I was on manual and the shutter speed was 1/1250th. Yes, 1250th, not 250th.

Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream was available at an extra charge. There was free soft serve (non Ben & Jerry's) by the pool .

Shell Pink by Sterliing. Very shiny and looks to have had little or no use. I love the color -- reminds me of the inside of a Conch shell in the Bahamas. This will make a great ice cream bowl.

This is for the Macro Mondays theme of FROZEN. During the months of October through January, our local grocery store carries peppermint ice cream. We have special "Christmas Sundae" treats, with hot fudge and whipped cream.

As always, thanks for your views, comments and faves!

After a short soak in a cup of hot water this gadget cuts through hard frozen ice cream with ease. I doubt that it is good for anything else but it does this job very well.

The cutting knives and other miscellaneous utensils are all old and have been with us a while. But the spoons, forks and table knives are all brand knew (from Bed, Bath and Beyond, by the way, which is also where we got the stainless steel drawer organizers).

Marline had been wanting new flatware for some time, because what I had is old and mismatched. She fell in love with these, and so that's what we have now. :-)
