The photograph (here with my colouring) was published in the book "Bilder från Finland" in 1928.

Kind of a back view of the scene. Hey, what are crash test dummies doing there?

An scene I built for a Land Rover themed contest on LEGO Ideas. Happy to say that it won as a 2nd Runner-Up!

It features a Land Rover Defender rescuing a fishing boat stuck on the frozen waters of the Arctic Sea. It looks like a very dangerous thing to do, but in LEGO anything goes! :D

This is a macroshot of some moss in our garden. I pointed the lense right into it (did not expect a keeper). I liked what I found on my memorycard afterward. It´s kind of abstract and bokehlicious ;-)

Please feel free to give me some critique and feedback: Describe the image in terms of your general feeling or impression. Tell me what you like or dislike about the photograph, and why. That could help me a big deal doing better in the future. THANKS!

The nuclear-powered icebreaker "Lenin".

The icebreaker is unique for two reasons: it is the world's first icebreaker with a nuclear power plant and the only nuclear icebreaker museum.

Along with space, the USSR conquered all other frontiers, in particular the Arctic. In 1953, it was decided to build the first nuclear-powered ship for her. Numerous delegations from Great Britain, the USA, and China were invited to the nuclear-powered ship under construction. Future US President Richard Nixon and Cuban leader Fidel Castro were on board.

In 2023, I set a calendar reminder on my phone: visit the Hudson-Athens lighthouse in winter. I had seen gorgeous photos of the lighthouse with its Christmas lights, and I wanted to see them for myself.

I did get pictures with that lighting- I'll upload them in a bit. But what really stole the show was the sunset. The way it lit up the ice like sun tea with the Catskills as a golden gradient...to die for!

The Canadian icebreaker Amundsen, a science vessel, frozen into the ice of the Arctic Ocean in the winter of 2004.

From the icy waters of Mahone Bay, Nova Scotia, this otter makes a brief appearance. It gingerly slid on it's belly, into another icehole.

I have definitely enough of these icy winter mood. Isn't there a gleam of spring in the air?
