The Participatory Video workshop tour promotes community-to-community learning. Icebreaker games were a fun way to get everybody feeling comfortable and ready to work as a team.

Not exactly from a kite, but I have posted it here because this shot was taken using a fisheye lens on my KAP rig suspended from the ship's bows hanging about 8m above the bow as she was breaking fast ice in the Weddell Sea in Antarctica. Kind of neat effect I think!

This is Sampo, an arctic icebreaker. It's probably the second best attraction in Kemi. The most popular one is the snow castle they build every winter.

In the dim light of the late afternoon the icebreakers keep the important shipping route open between Amsterdam and the northern provinces. In the background the contours of IJburg, a new district of Amsterdam in the IJmeer, are visible.

The locomotives were stationed here to travel along the ECML at night during winter to prevent the overhead wires from icing up. Of course if they ran overnight trains, this wouldn't be a problem...
