The former International Business Machines (IBM) building at 520 Capitol Mall in Sacramento was designed in 1963. This 67,200 square foot building provides 8 floors of flexible office space, a penthouse for mechanical equipment, and a basement with service facilities for the main tenant. The site is an interior city lot, located on Capitol Mall, an important boulevard (one of the first areas to be redeveloped in the downtown area). The neighboring buildings are and have always been financial and government buildings.
The first, second and third floors were designed to be leased to and occupied by the major tenant (IBM). The other 5 floors divided into smaller office suites. The building was later acquired by IBM, who redesigned the interiors for their occupancy of the entire building. The original client was Dr, Charles E. Brown and the construction cost was $3 million including the 4-level parking structure which accommodates 207 cars. Continental Construction was the construction manager.
The head of IBM interviewed and hired Dreyfuss & Blackford Architects even though they weren't the owners, just the prime tenants. It was the first precast building in Sacramento, and the tallest building on Capitol Mall, in addition to being the first building in the redevelopment of Sacramento.

We had the most incredible week at IBM ConnectED 2015 (#IBMConnectED) in Orlando, Florida.
We flew in late Saturday evening. And then it was basically non-stop, 18-hour days from Sunday to Wednesday attending sessions, meeting with executives, going to partner events, working the trade show, and taking a few photos when we got the chance.
We were invited to attend the IBM Leadership Alliance on Sunday. Riva was voted by IBM as one of their Top 4 partner integration solutions. Our CEO, Aldo Zanoni, did an incredible job presenting Riva during the App Throwdown. We were invited to the IBM partner and analyst lunch and a special invitation-only event at Shula's Steakhouse.
We made many new friends at the conference. We shared how Riva can transform sales and support success by integrating the world's best CRMs directly with IBM Collaboration Solutions (IBM Notes and Domino, IBM SmartCloud Notes, and IBM Verse).
As a result of our success at this show, we've decided to go to IBM InterConnect in Las Vegas next month. Will you be there?

My interview at IBM. This took place at Haslemere, some random place in England. The place wasn't an official IBM location, they just rented it out for training purposes. The interview went very well and soon I was told I passed the interview.

On February 2, 2011 CSIS president and CEO Dr. John J. Hamre moderated a conversation with CEOs Michael Dell of Dell, Inc. and Samuel J. Palmisano of IBM. During this session, Dr. Hamre and his guests explored the challenges to U.S. IT competitiveness in the 21st century, from taxes and trade to education and immigration. To address the current fiscal deficit, Mr. Palmisano argued that the U.S. government can save money by consolidating its IT infrastructure. Mr. Dell said the same can be done for 1,000s of U.S. government supply chains. Both business leaders agreed that the competitive landscape is shifting as quickly as the middle class is rising in India and China. They argued that adopting newer technology and lowering corporate tax rates will help improve the competitiveness of U.S. businesses.
