Jour 107
On my way to work this morning, I saw these clematis. I switched from my Telephoto 2x lens to the Long Range Macro 10x and amused myself for several minutes. These macro lenses have given me much freedom 😁.
Grabbed with my iPhone, this colobus monkey of the mantled guereza variety on the picnic ground of Fisherman's Camp beside Lake Naivasha in Kenya's Great Rift Valley. No, the monkey is not disfigured by something on its head; actually it is a photobombing vervet monkey. ©2025 John M. Hudson | jmhudson1.com
ANZSAC DAY. Western Australia
Government House. Perth, WA.
The much loved annual Anzac Day poppy display was opened to the public on Monday 9 April.
Volunteers from RSL Western Australia have planted over 40,000 hand crafted, crocheted poppies commemorating lives lost during World War I.
Among the red poppies, which represent fallen soldiers, are purple crocheted poppies which represent animals. Sprigs of rosemary, the symbol of Anzac Day, have also been planted on the lawns.
[This is the sixth photo of the Magic Beach "series"]
The first thing that always comes to my mind when I look at this photo is: "Voluptuous" 😊
These photos came as a big surprise to me. I had been at this beach a couple of years ago. This time, the idea was once again to shoot sunset, with the golden light bathing the peaks of the mountains standing on the other side of the fjord.
But, once I noticed some curious rocks and closed in on them, the landscape/seascape planned shots were immediately forgotten.

2024 Photo 99/267 Strictly for the record, my photo of April 8's eclipse, taken with my iPhone 15 Pro Max's 5X optical telephoto lens and enlarged and enhanced somewhat in Photoshop and Topaz. On the Blue Ridge Parkway, Iron Mine Hollow overlook. As the old saying goes, "The best camera is the one you have with you." This is the one I had with me. ©2024 | John M. Hudson
