While my son was playing with the Duplos, I decided to demonstrate that you really can build recognizable objects with the larger-size LEGO blocks.
We've been joking about this pun for a while, and it's great that someone's done it!

I submitted another version of this shot to Instagram for their "tea time" weekend photo challenge, but I think I might have been stretching the theme a bit.
At Long Beach Comic Con 2014. ← My writeup of the convention.
Notice you only see two of the three ducklings. The other is hidden behind its mother after its surprise turtle encounter!
Ducks (mostly mallards like these), coots and geese (mostly Canada Geese) make this one of their regular migratory spots. Seagulls, pigeons and crows stop by regularly. Smaller birds mostly stick to the other parts of the park. The turtles, like those in most of the ponds around here, are feral - released pets and their descendants.
Also on Pixelfed and on my blog, and observed at iNaturalist.

The Anaheim Garden Walk, behind the anchor restaurants on the first floor, is even emptier than I remembered it. This used to be the third-floor food court. There's nothing there anymore.

At the panel for the upcoming TV show, "No Ordinary Family." They screened the entire pilot before bringing out the actors and producers for Q&A, and it looks pretty good. Here are my thoughts on the show.

A fairly hard-core costume! Apparently, this character only appeared in one panel of one comic book, Flash (second series) #134 (1998). For more info, see here: www.hyperborea.org/flash/appendix-villains.html#gareverse
A robotic R2D2 and a costumed C-3PO. It's a miracle I was able to snap a picture of just the two of them between photo-ops.
Cosplay group by The Adventure Effect. I loved how they matched up characters based on resemblance to the actors.
