My first full day with the Canon 350D. Matt and I took a long walk after lunch, him with the company D70 and me with the new Rebel XT. Having been quite a while since I've been able to wander about with a camera, I relied mostly on his eye to find interesting subjects.
It took about three attempts before I finally found a framing of this hydrant that drew my eye directly to the "13" pressed on the end of the hose cap.
Anyone know the story of the "13"?
Post work:
- Levels correction to solidify the black values and compress the midrange.
- Curves with midrange bumps on the Red and Green channels to deepen the paint and pump up the rust tones on the chain.
- Resized down
- Matted
This Park Ave. hydrant has not been shut down properly. As you can see, it's leaking off to the right. :-{)
(I just invented a new semi-smiley face by hitting an extra key by mistake!!)
