There was some fire dept. activity on Broadway. This is the hydrant that was apparently not turned off all the way.
This hydrant caught my eye this afternoon, especially since I had been on the lookout for interesting subjects for the Utata Gets in Shape project.
Morning shadows on a fire hydrant in Golden Gate Park right next to the newly opened Academy of Science. Not stunning, but I find it quite pleasing.

Is it just me, or are most fire hydrants red? That is, most fire hydrants on television are. I stumbled upon an orange one. Maybe because it's in the City of Orange, in Orange County? Bold colours and simplicity, with a peeling orange and red fire hydrant close-up, set against a brilliant blue painted wall. Hard, functional fittings against eye-catching solid colour.
A fire hydrant near my house.
Taken near my house with a Yashica J and Kodak Ultramax 400.
