Rusty old Hydrant at Harkness

I knew that the timing of when I finished the hydrant and the start of Pollinator Week would be in close proximity, so I figured I'd make a chalk announcement. The weather looks nice so maybe it will stay there for a couple of days!

Old fire hydrant in Detroit

The one on the left is from the 1939 World's Fair, and the one on the right is a 19th Century wooden hydrant.

This is an interesting enough photo of a hydrant. However, because Sigma DP2s captures so much detail...

This battered old hydrant was outside of the abandoned Fisher plant in Detroit. It stands as a lonely testament to the decay of the area. But the colors are still fairly vibrant! I gave it a little antique border to give it some life :)

My first roam around the block with my stereo test rig (two pn2011s bolted together).

They're getting a bit wild with their fire hydrants in Mansfield, Ohio.

In the middle of some land nearby my house is this fire hydrant. Not a building for several hundreds of feet.

I don't remember Phoenix ever being so cold. I can't believe I canceled Turkey because of the weather there. And now, I'm shivering through an ice age.

i laid on the ground to get this shot. a man with no teeth asked me something unintelligible (probably in chinese). i said "why is it gold?" he said, semi-intelligibly "bakery". yes, that's a bokeh bakery in the back. no, that does not explain why it's gold.
