In front of the W. 83 St. firehouse on on the Upper West Side of Manhattan.
I've spent that last few weeks the process of troubleshooting and recovering from a slowly progressing hard drive crash. Still reloading my system and software, but I thought I'd drop in to say I'm still alive. Sooner or later, I'll be back to normal.
A summer 2013 activity: Decorate a fire hydrant, sponsored by the Point Roberts Volunteer Fire Department, Chris Carleton, Chief. The Chief reports that just short of 150 hydrants were decorated this summer and early fall. He plans another round of painting when the weather dries out next spring.
This set includes this 8x8 matrix of the first 64 decorated hydrants that I came across while driving along Point Roberts' main roads, as well as individual portraits of the 64 hydrants, starting here.
Additional decorated hydrants are in a second set, cleverly titled Hydrant Painting: The Second Set.
Lisbon Fire Hydrants by Karl Rudhyn (2016)
Another day in Lisbon i saw some Fire Hydrants, their forms and red color take my attention.
This is the result of some of them in a selective color composite image.

I have a good story about this hydrant. :) Don't forget to look around before you take a photo. This hydrant was in front of a prison and you are not allowed to take a photo about a prison.
Finally got around to shooting this fire hydrant in downtown GR... I've been wanting to ever since I first found out about it a few weeks ago.
This is my night experimentation with it... I have the flash behind it.
This shot on factory of East LA.
