It's Hurricane Irene central around here today, and after a fun time at a friend's daughter's first birthday party this afternoon, Dan and I finished getting ready. We have water bottles, beer, snacks, flashlights and candles... and we even packed our Go Bags. I'm both hesitant to admit I took the warnings so seriously, and wanting to be honest in my daily shot. Because I'm worried, both for my parents, who live a half a mile from a river, and my brother, who had to evacuate, and friends... I haven't ever seen anything like this, the advance preparation. I hope it's all overreaction, but it's exciting and scary. We haven't lived here long enough to know what how the area floods... and if we have to go? Well, I guess we'll go. Bear Thompson and all.
