These squirrels would do anything, as you can see, to eat the bird seeds! One would climb the feeder & all the spills below would also be quickly eaten up! Poor birds, I've moved the feeder since so the birds could eat their fill, lol =) Best viewed large.
When we were visiting Gibson's, many of the trollers were moored for the night. The pubs were busy, people were mulling about, and I was looking for my next shot. The clouds seemed reluctant to deliver much color however, they too cooperated appearing too blush for the camera.
Hazel, my favorite red squirrel, gazing at the Turkish hazelnuts I'm holding in my hand. She likes them so much 😉
A small waterfall at the Hungry Horse Reservoir in Montana. I think I’ve said this in a previous post, one of my goals on this trip was to try to capture images that weren’t just “the iconic shots” of the areas that I traveled. I found this area, which is in the shadows of Glacier National Park, just as..if not more beautiful in some ways than the Park itself.
Hen Harrier hunting... the BG is not really what I wanted but she was so close I just had to take the shot
Doesn’t that barn door look like an open mouth waiting to devour those bales of hay? Yes it’s time to bail the hay in Connecticut.
After an unsuccessful hunt on chital (spotted deer) a female tiger comes back to the same area.
We had left the area after her failed hunt but after a while we decided to return and to wait. Suddenly we saw her appearing from the long grass.
Late afternoon sighting in Kishanpur Wildlife Sanctuary, a part of Dudhwa Tiger Reserve in Uttar Pradesh, India.
The National Park staff had done preventive burning of some of the long grass in this area a few days before

This feeding time -this hungry juvenile dont have patience
The warmer days have woken up the koi and they're looking for food... but the water is still too cold to feed them. They will come over and suck on our fingers and they let us pet them!!!
We just had the pond cleaned and our friend who did the cleaning found a baby fish, about 3 inches long... so exciting!! So now we have 10 (and all have names) and will buy two more to make a dozen!
The fishing lines are there to protect the koi from predators, the egrets and heron won't attempt a free meal when they see the lines.

I was walking thru the forrest when I noticed a nest of baby blackbirds. The father and mother were flying around that gave me the hint that a nest was around. I spotted the nest and was able to get a few shots.
Wonderful morning at The Butterfly Place. They just opened for the 2023 Season on Valentines Day. All the action was around this feeding station.
Day 49:365
I've been meaning to tell you
I've got this feelin' that won't subside
I look at you and I fantasize
You're mine tonight
Now, I've got you in my sights
With these hungry eyes
One look at you and I can't disguise
I've got hungry eyes
I feel the magic between you and I
A colourful macaroons display in a fancy shopping mall in Melbourne. I hope it brightens up somebody's Monday :) :) :)
"Newly hatched chicks have a sparse coat of grey down (protoptiles) that is replaced by a dense, wooly, and white down (mesoptiles) in about 10 days. Chicks grow fast, being about half the height of adults in three to four weeks. By the sixth and seventh weeks, the plumage on the head and neck turns smokey grey. When fledged, they resemble the adult, differing only in that they have a feathered head and a yellow bill." Wikipedia
