A ceremony of remembrance is held every year on 5th August at the Monument to Victims of the Wola Massacre (In Polish: "Pomnik Ofiar Rzezi Woli"), which is located in a small square ("Skwer Pamięci") near the intersection of Solidarity Avenue (Aleja Solidarności) and Leszno Street in Warsaw.

The ceremony is followed by a march to Warsaw Insurgents Cemetery. Marchers visit many other monuments and memorials to victims of the massacre en route to the cemetery. This Tchorek plaque outside the Orthodox Cemetery on Wolska Street commemorates approximately 60 residents of the Wola district who were murdered here by the Germans on 5th August 1944, and also the 1500 victims of the Wola Massacre whose bodies were subsequently burned inside the cemetery....

This memorial is dedicated to the crew of an RAF Halifax bomber shot down by the Germans on 15th August 1944, while delivering aid to fighting Warsaw. Four of the seven crew members lost their lives....
During the Warsaw Uprising the Soviet Union not only refused to aid the insurgents, but also refused to allow allied planes to land and refuel on Soviet-held territory. As a result Polish, British and South African volunteer airmen had to make the perilous journey to Warsaw and back from southern Italy without refuelling, which limited the number of sorties that were possible as well as reducing the payload.
A total of 370 tons of supplies were delivered to Warsaw in August and September 1944, but approximately 50% fell into German hands and an estimated 360 airmen and 41 aircraft were lost during these operations....

Towards the end of the Warsaw Uprising, units of the First Polish Army fighting under Soviet command crossed the river Wisła to link up with the insurgents in Czerniaków (crossings were made on 15th, 16th and 17th September 1944). Casualties were high, as their efforts to aid the insurgents (which had not been authorised by the Soviets) were ineffectively supported. Their commander, General Zygmunt Berling, was removed from his post shortly afterwards and no further crossings were attempted....
