Postcard made by Rebekah. Just south of Cannon, this little beach gives you easy access to all that nature has to offer. You get a beautiful view of the Pacific Ocean and tons of interesting rocks and caves to explore. Looking north you can see Haystack Rock-one of the most identifiable landmarks along the coastline. I love Hug Point because it is never packed or crowded like other beaches but tucked away within trees and cliffs to provide a more peaceful feel.

Col. Ben Skardon, 101, hugs the mother of a combat veteran after speaking at a POW event in the Las Cruces Convention Center, March 16, 2019. Skardon is a 1938 graduate of Clemson University, WWII POW, recipient of two Silver Stars, and survivor of the Bataan Death March. He came to White Sands Missile Range, N.M. to walk in the Bataan Memorial Death March for the 12th time. He is the only survivor of the actual death march to walk in the memorial march. After he retired from the Army, he came back to Clemson and taught English until his retirement in 1982. (Photo by Ken Scar)
My next-door neighbor graciously took this photo of us hugging after our arrival. This was me, just a few moments after walking into my new home for the first time as its owner.
I like pictures of nice hugs. Me (Brendan Goold), Justin Vice and Galen Pack all standing around. The heads are cut off ala a Justin Vice portrait. I think Cindy Ho probably took the picture.
