My daughter found these hugging trees off a beaten path during the summer and now I have this special connection with them. Every time I return to the area, I have to say hello.
"Your hugs have a way of making everything feel okay, even when the world seems like it’s falling apart."
A few hug photo's from the hug a linden dunk a linden event (sorry molly linden for that awful photo, she's on the top right)
For Tree-mendous Tuesday, I am sending out a group hug to all of you. It’s the season of many happy distractions as I catch up with friends over coffee dates, shopping for that perfect gift and cooking up comfort foods as hubby does the snow shovelling. Many people locally have been so good in supporting us through our challenges this year that it is nice to show our appreciation in a small significant way to as many friends as we can. This means I am not as consistent in commenting on Flickr. Sometimes I only have time to catch a quick peak and say to myself what a great image that was. So thank you for posting your images. Instead of a lot of comments, I am sending this hug to say thank you to all who do comment. Keep embracing the world around you and showcasing the world through your eyes. In this image, it’s the Tamarack that catches your eye at first. But don’t undervalue those other trees who are there to support him or at least keep him company. 😏
Today....the 21th of January 2024 is International Hugging Day
PETER:
Oleg?
OLEG:
What is it Peter?
PETER:
Well....today is International Hugging Day and now I want to ask you if you want to hug me.
OLEG:
Of course I want to hug you...anytime....whenever you want.
PETER:
I know that Oleg, but I would like to be hugged like when I was a baby bear.
OLEG:
I don't know the difference of hugging between you now and when you were a baby.
PETER:
I'm going to show you that
(walking away to the attic)
A few minutes later...
PETER:
Oleg..Oleg!
I want to get hugged!
Oleg runs to the attic and sees Peter......
OLEG:
OMG...Peter...what are you doing in the pram?
PETER:
I told you...I want to be hugged like when I was a baby .
OLEG:
Yes..well then.....Come here little one
(Oleg hugs Peter)
PETER:
Thank you Oleg...I like this so much for a moment!

Tree Hugger - Bobcat kitten strikes an adorable pose among the willows. Bobcats have been decimated with mange in much of California this year due to anti-coagulant rodenticides, so it was a treat to observe this healthy family with a friend.

For purposes of scale, human hugs tree in Thebes, Illinois.
One of largest cottonwood trees he has seen, surely was fairly large when Lewis and Clark camped nearby.
Attached is Mississippi River gauge ( river in background, and Thebes Railroad Bridge). Highest recorded level: 47.4 in 2016.
This is a little treasure nestled along the Oregon coast and if you do not know it is there, you will breeze on by and miss it completely. Take the stairs from the parking lot and go right, when you reach the beach. Best (and safest) at low tide.
Live. Love. Smile. Hug. Laugh. Dream. Do. Create. Have fun. Be intense. Be audacious. Be unreasonable. Act impeccably. Breathe. Be you. Be different.

Sometimes we just need a hug. A hug where someone wraps their arms around you so tight and reminds you that everything will be okay. -- Author Unknown
Homage to the seemingly never ending winter of 2025 (although the photo was taken last year). :)
- Keefer Lake, Ontario, Canada -
It's been a long time since I posted this but it never fails to make me smile! This was taken in Brampton, Ontario, where we used to live, back in 2006. The tree is long gone now. The first time I saw it I couldn't believe it! Some of my newer followers might enjoy it.
As for my title... it wouldn't be the first time I've been called a 'tree hugger' and I'm happy to be one! 😂
NOTE: Thanks All!!
Happy to have my first Explore since Dec. of 2020!!
