Hugging the mountain side , hopefully this image explains why my hiking gear was a little wet even my boots, a sunrise after a heavy night of rain , even the moon popped out , planning to go back to Twmbarlwm in the morning .

Guess what we got in the mail today?

The most beautiful gift ever...Inky's lovely pastel of Buddy Roo!!!! Our family is so thrilled and excited...Inky you have no idea what a treasure this is to all of us!!!! I didn't think it was possible,

but the original pastel is even more captivating than I could have imagined. Thank you so much from the bottom of our hearts!!! Dad told Buddy Roo he is now "world famous" and as you can see, he seems pretty pleased with himself!!!

Big hugs to you from Buddy Roo's very happy family!!!

Just because something is free doesn’t mean you should take it.

This Blythe doll is Sweet Bubbly Bear, posing for the theme “Hug” in the Blythe a Day group on Flickr. I found this weird door at the local antique mall. It has a hanger on the back so it can be displayed on a wall. I bought it because it is Blythe-size, but when I got it home I wondered how I would ever use such a creepy looking prop. Here’s the answer! It will probably be good for a Halloween picture too.

Put your arms around your significant other, your friend, the stranger right next to you, or even yourself, but share the love!

Scan your archives, make your choice, and tweet it to @Flickr, adding #TwitterTuesday #Hugs. We'll showcase the best ones on the Flickr Blog tomorrow.

Everyone needs a hug now and then! I caught these two Sunflowers having one this morning. This is just a fun pic...do not feel you have to comment!! Have a great day...

Texture...Spring skies...

More from the Toronto Zoo-normally we never get to see the Red Pandas do anything more than sleep but because of the Christmas Treats walk this fellow was still enjoying his fresh fruit-and was quite amiable

The other one was nowhere to be seen though

Those cuddly looking look so inviting and almost beg you to take a free hug. The closest I came in contact was with one which clung thankfully only to my boot and was knocked off by Talor Stone with my tripod. I saw how the spines got into the boot of the tripod now. If they can get into hard rubber and refuse to come out, imagine what they do with your flesh.

This is the one downside to shooting in Arizona. One has to keep an eye out for unwanted attention from the Cholla cactus. They are best enjoyed from a distance. On this occasion, I was on my own split up from the rest of the group. The sky was meh and I gave up after trying to find decent compositions involving desert vegetation. More than anything else, I wanted to go back to the car before it got too dark and bump into or step on one of those that is always ready to hitch a ride.

On my way back, I turned and turned back to look for Wayne Suggs who had ventured further out than I did. While I did not see him, I saw these things and I took a shot from a safe distance as the cacti seemingly glowed in the fading light.

When I got back to the car, Talor told me all three in her group were not spared and some blood had to be spilled. We waited for some more time and Wayne finally showed up. He had the same experience. Wayne went on to remove the cholla spines from his shin and it sure did not look like he was enjoying it. I was glad I was unscathed on my last shoot there.

Do you guys have any tricks to avoiding being poked by the cholla and if you do end up getting attacked by one, what do you do? Carrying Needle Nose Pliers is one thing most folks seem to agree upon. What else?

We watched the female orangutan watching the gibbon mother with its baby she desperately wanted to touch the baby but kept her distance and suddenly the baby gibbon came to her and they hugged and she cleaned the baby ... as a young child ive always been fascinated by nature the natural world is an amazing world and brings me so much pleasure it pains me that they do less damage but are paying the worst price in global warming etc but its moments like this I keep for ever 💗.....

Just a little snapshot for those who have asked if Linus' behaviour has changed since the neutering. Err .... not really, says Fynn. :)

photo taken at Sunny Photo Studio I missed you pose

This Turkey Vulture was seen spreading its wings in a tree adjacent to Lake Balboa, Van Nuys, CA.

Who says you can't shoot the Milky Way in the winter?

I've been interested in panoramas for the past four years or so, mostly because of my night shooting. It's really, really difficult to convey the "bigness" of the night sky with a single photo--even one taken with an ultra-wide lens like a 14mm.

There were a lot of things happening in this photo that I wanted to capture, and so this full-circle approach seemed appropriate. In the upper right you can see the remnants of some really strong zodiacal light (this photo was taken over TWO HOURS after sunset) that was still glowing in the western skies and nearly reaching out to the Pleaides. The Milky Way is arching from (approximately) west-northwest to east. But what I really like is the different (and clearly stratified) airglow visible in this photo, with the greens being lower on the horizon than the reds. Cool stuff.

On the ground, this was taken at Hug Point, Oregon, and you can see the waterfall right on the beach.

I would be remiss if I didn't mention that Yuri Beletsky's circular full-sky panoramas inspired me to give this a try. This style is a little more documentary than my normal approach to fine-art night-sky photography, but I thought this situation warranted this particular treatment.

Also, if you're interested in learning more about taking and processing night-sky photos, I'm doing a couple of workshops this summer at Crater Lake National Park. Check out my website for more details and shoot me a message if you have any questions.

Thanks for checking out the photo!
