Another post.. so soon after the last one?! Well, now that I am enjoying my summer holidays.. I do have a bit more time. And while there is still a heatwave going on, today is a very rainy day. So I don't feel too bad about spending some time at my PC.

So I posted some more photos of this outfit on my blog (yes, 9 months after the last post!). Let me know if you like the red. 😉

New blog-post!

And I also posted a public YouTube video.. so I feel very productive! 😊

New video!

Hope these summer days are as enjoyable for you as they are for me.

I captured this image at the "Ding" Darling National Wildlife Refuge in Sanibel, a barrier island on the southwestern coast of Florida. Although I have uploaded many images of these majestic birds, I can't seem to visit "Ding" Darling during the winter without capturing several hundred more images and without keeping some of them. There are several sandbars of differing heights at Ding Darling where pelicans and other birds congregate to rest and socialize during the low tide. When the tide turns and the waters begin to rise, the lower sandbars are flooded earlier causing some of the birds to abandon those sandbars and seek temporary refuge on the higher ones. So it was with this American White Pelican. After having left the submerging sandbar on one side of the wildlife road, it flew over us and "taxied in" to add to the growing numbers on this side of the road. The illumination and the direction of the wind were perfect to capture this profile image of the bird.

The American White Pelicans are winter visitors to central and southern Florida. Like many other birds and human visitors to South Florida, they come here to escape the harsh winters of their breeding grounds in the north central US and central Canada.

Still haven't had any outdoor Tassia time since the outbreak.. so since the last 3 posts were all indoor pics, I thought I'd post another throwback of me enjoying the fresh air outdoor. 😊

I really would love to go outside for more than just groceries and a quick jog.

Eppure il vento soffia ancora!!! Pierangelo Bertoli

☼♪♫☼♪♫ eppure soffia.......

EXCELLENCE IN COLOUR IS BACK!

Barbara's wonderful group has been hibernating for a couple of weeks but she's invited me to take it on for a while. It is, in my opinion, the best, high quality colour group in FlickrLand so I'd better not screw it up :-) Excellent images with great use of colour and super composition - that's the aim.

The craving for colour is a natural necessity just as for water and fire. Colour is a raw material indispensable to life. At every era of his existence and his history, the human being has associated colour with his joys, his actions and his pleasures. (Frenand Leger)

Hé eh eh, eh eh, ah ah ah, ah ah

Hé eh eh, eh eh, ah ah ah

Pour certains elle est belle

Pour d'autres elle est blanche

Entre cauchemar et rêve

Ou entre drague et danse

Quelques étoiles dans le ciel

On contemple et on pense

Certains travaillent ou traînent

Et d'autres se dépensent

Insomnie de sortie

Sans cesse on cogite

Insomnie de sortie

On oublie nos principes

Montenegro is a country in Eastern Europe bordering Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Kosovo, Albania and the Adriatic Sea. It used to be a part of Yugoslavia. The capital is Podgorica. The name Montenegro is Italian and means Black mountain. Montenegro was an independent princedom between 1878 and 1910 and an independent kingdom until 1918. That year Montenegro became part of Yugoslavia. In 2003 Yugoslavia was transformed into the new country of Serbia and Montenegro, but this fell apart in 2006 when both countries went their separate ways. Montenegro is therefore the youngest country in Europe. Montenegro is not a member of the European Union, but it is a member of NATO. Despite the fact that Montenegro is not yet an EU Member State, people do pay with the euro. Montenegro may be small, but this beautiful nation has a huge array of natural and man-made wonders. Once overlooked in favor of more famous Mediterranean countries, Montenegro is quickly gaining a reputation as a great place to travel. It's easy to see why. The mountainous hinterland is home to deep gorges, flowing rivers, glacial lakes and old-growth forests, popular for adventure activities. The winding coast runs along pretty blonde bays overlooking the royal blue Adriatic Sea, ancient Venetian villages and UNESCO-walled towns. Kotor is a fortified town and protected by the St John’s Fortress on Montenegro’s Adriatic coast, in a bay near the limestone cliffs of Mt. Lovćen. Characterized by winding streets and squares, its medieval old town has several Romanesque churches, including Kotor Cathedral.

Kotor dates back to the Middle Ages and thanks to its preserved center, it is on the UNESCO list of natural and historical World Heritage Sites. You get a beautiful view of the Kotor bay from the P1 road to the top of Mt. Lovćen, a somewhat steep and very narrow route, barely passable by bus. But if you're with a car, you shouldn't have any problems getting to the best view of Europe's southernmost fjord quickly and easily. Photo of Kanitha and the Bay of Kotor.

Bloggity blog blog: In the city and in the museum! ;-)

Earlier this month, I visited the city of Amersfoort together with a friend to check out a museum and we ended the day at a social gathering. Lots of pics in the blog, but I wanted to post this one... last picture of the evening.

It is the only one where I'm not wearing my dotty tights because the weather gradually became sooo warm and humid. And it's the only shot of me in these particular heels.. which I wore just for the social gathering.

But I still ended up walking 2 kilometres in them!!! :P

El Matador's Avocado and Chicken Soup

Q: My wife and I love good soup, and one of our favorites is the Avocado and Chicken Soup at El Matador restaurant in Tucker. Is it possible to get the recipe?

- Jim Chambers, Tucker

A: Only in America! Where else can a Jordanian immigrant come to a country, work on an assembly line in an electronics plant, become good friends with immigrants from Mexico, develop a fondness for Mexican culture, music and food and then open a restaurant specializing in Mexican, with a touch of Middle Eastern cuisine? That is the story of Ismail Sirdah, who came here 17 years ago from Jordan, is now an American citizen and owner of El Matador, a casual Tex-Mex restaurant that boasts everyday fresh ingredients.

The intensity in this sunrise over Great Smoky Mountains National Park was unparalleled. Anyone who knows this overlook (Deep Creek) knows that it doesn't even face due east, but instead the left side of the frame is southeast and the right is southwest, towards Clingman's Dome; but still, the radiant color filled the sky! I thought the morning would have potential, since a front was moving through the next morning, while the early hours of the night were projected to be clear. I was woken up at some point in the night, and noticed the almost-full moon shining through a blanket of thin mid-elevation clouds - perfect for sunrise! Even an hour before the sun broke the horizon, the clouds were starting to show various hues of pink and purple. The clouds ended up displaying such an intense color that I had serious difficulty in post-processing to maintain realism in the scene - I hope it isn't too much!

The lingering fall leaves, especially the dark reds and oranges in the oaks, still provided some autumn colors to an otherwise past-peak scene. On my way here, I drove by the ever popular Oconaluftee Overlook, where an array of tripods was arrayed out before a leafless valley, even an hour before sunrise! I can't imagine the craziness that popular overlook experienced on this particular morning, as dozens of photographers jockeyed for what they deemed the best location...meanwhile, I had this entire overlook completely to myself!

So.. apparently, my first cooperation with ROMWE went well enough and they gave me another opportunity to select a couple of things from their catalogue. And on top of that, they gave me a 60% coupon code ( RWnatcrys60 ) as well for you! No, I don't get any money when that code is used ( I wish! ).

This is the first of four items.. yet another LBD with a cut-out, because one can never have too many Little Black Dresses!! :-P

Again, we all know how this works.. the more traffic goes to their site, the happier they are. And the happier they are, the more willing they are to send me free clothes! Perhaps even shoes this time! A girl can dream, right?! :)

"Conservation is a state of harmony between men and land." Aldo Leopold.

Dalyan, on the Turkey's Aegean Coast, is a fantastic place to relax in a peaceful setting surrounded by nature. Very close to this town we can find Iztuzu, one of the most beautiful beaches in the Mediterranean. It can be reached by one of the numerous boats that offer tours along the Dalyan River until reaching the beach, or through a road that allows access only from its southern side.

Iztuzu Beach is also known as Turtle Beach, since this coastal strip is home to one of the most important breeding sites for sea turtles in the Mediterranean. In 1988, the beach was named a Protected Area by the Turkish government, and access is prohibited from dusk to dawn to protect the laying of eggs and the birth of small turtles. However, this area could have been very different today without the conservation efforts of June Haimoff and many other environmentalists who saved it in the 1980s. Their work to raise awareness and the launch of an international campaign allowed to stop the construction of a huge German resort in this ecological paradise. Both the curious turtles, which can often be seen near the beach, and the locals and visitors who come here, can still enjoy this natural wonder thanks to all those people who decided to protect this beautiful natural environment.

VIDEO: Still reliving my sweet memories of my holidays in South France! :)

Bloggity blog blog

As I have said in a previous post, during my holidays in France.. I got to wear quite a number of summer outfits. And I will be showing them in the next few posts. Like with all my photo and video shoots, I'm very grateful that I can always count on someone to help me out!

This shoot was on the Monday of my holiday and I brought this green/black dress from Steps with a cute black ribbon as a sort of belt. I love dresses and tops from Steps, because I know that a size 38 (EU) will always fit me. Nothing annoys me more than when supposedly same size clothing from one brand will vary from dress to dress!

This little village had so many nice places for photos, you can definitely see that I'm not in the Netherlands! ;-)

Looking at this back-side shot of myself in this dress, I really think I should do something with my hair. I just have no idea.. so I guess a visit to the hair saloon is in order. Any suggestions?
