197/365 - "How Beautiful Wisconsin Really Is"

After my Hawaii trip, I only got my camera out a few times in 3 weeks. The long, cold winter really messed with my head after being in paradise for 10 days. It took this quick day-trip to the Algoma lighthouse on Lake Michigan with my adventure friends to snap me out of my funk and remember how beautiful Wisconsin really is.

So yes, now that spring has official arrived, I'll be posting snow pictures for awhile...

Sometimes I do look at myself in the mirror, and ask myself if I am happy with who I appear to be. I ask myself what people would do if they knew the real me. I ask myself how long I can hide, how long I can pretend that I'm just another one of them ..

The start of the day before taskings commenced

Since I had the day off yesterday, I went with Dan, Carmen, and Elsa to Flax (the art store). It was her first car ride since coming home from the hospital. As a result, I had plenty of time to take this picture (and the one below) while Dan was figuring out how to collapse the stroller. The car seat was sitting on the sidewalk, since it was still too hot in the car anyway. Elsa pretty much slept through the entire outing, having been awake for her first pediatrician appointment before that.

Laces is wearing a beautiful little hat and dress set made by Spikelover.

Thank you so much Spikelover! We love it!

I've been admiring the poppies that I've seen, recently, both in my area & on flickr. Such a vibrantly colored flower, with such unusual seed pods. Delightful! I saw this one in Copake, New York, USA on June 2, 2012. How many bugs can you see?

This man was sitting on a bench at my locat park. I took a shot of him as he was counting the change in his hands. I was nervous to take the shot, but luckily the picture turned out very well.

There's a story. Last year when I was taking Iris to Girls Rock Camp, we would get a chuckle out of this sign. I always meant to get a photo of it, and tried to fix in my memory the phrase "how can be lounge."

Months passed. It came up and we realized we couldn't recall the exact wording. Finally today I made a mission of photographing the sign.

Turns out the place has the story inside of why it's called "How Can Be Lounge." I bought a tee-shirt, but I'm not sure what to do with it.

It's a karaoke bar. The owner says "how can be?" frequently. And so the name.

Approaching a secluded corner in town in Scarborough, I heard an almighty clamouring of bird-chatter....... here they are, almost perfectly camouflaged - except for their noise haha ;-)

I came across this abandoned car in the middle of the woods, quite surreal as it has been here for a while and it must have been quite a journey for it to arrive at its final resting place! This scene made me think of the lines from a "Talking Heads" classic song, "Once in a lifetime" and the line which goes....."Well, how did I get here?" Never heard it before? Try youtube for it, great song!!

Lucky for me our receptionist dropped in today with her new baby boy.

She is still on Maternity leave but I guess she needed an office fix.

Plus she wanted to show off the baby.

Of course all the women said, ohhh how cute.

To me most babies look alike. But I have a cute shot so that works for me.
