Lovely old quarries - I'm very fond of quarry tiles and at the time of this advert numerous UK manufacturers churned them out, although the use of them was already, by then, in decline as newer floor finishes came into vogue. The tiles are noted as 'plastic' made - not plastic, the material, but extruded from plastic clay and not formed from clay dust under pressure. I wonder how many garden paths were built from these tiles? The advert also shows air bricks - and garden tiles, used to create edgings in so many Victorian and Edwardian urban gardens. The company, originally as the advert notes J Timmis and Sons, appears to have traded under this title from around this date until the mid-1960s. I believe the works is now under the A500 Stoke urban motorway!

How dare I throw a treat to Magnus instead of to you, right, Bogart?
That furbag on the left has settled in nicely at the trainer's place. Until next Thursday, he's the only boarder, so he's getting plenty of one-on-one training time. She also has three dogs of her own, so Magnus has the opportunity to play. His favorite companion is Bucky, a nine-pound Jack Russell Terrier. Magnus follows him wherever he goes. Apparently it's rather a riot to see this giant furbag shadow the little white dog everywhere. Of course, the JRT is boss.
The trainer is working on boundaries and relaxation when visitors arrive, so hopefully that'll progress to the point that it translates to our home. She hasn't been taking him to populated places on a leash yet, though, because she wants to overcome his general nervousness out on the leash first (he tends to be uncertain about his surroundings). Plans to start those field trips on Monday.
Been quite hot, so the trainer set up a kiddie pool for Magnus. Magnus, being Magnus, had a blast in the water then plopped down across the side of pool to rest. He couldn't quite figure out all the water rushing onto the lawn, but she refilled the pool and taught him to lie down in the middle of the kiddie pool.
All in all, sounds like all is going well for this boy.
