Hover-taxi I built 5-6 years ago and never got around to photographing before. The Fifth Element movie was obviously a big influence on the design.

I haven't changed or updated it since it was built. If I was doing it today there are some changes I'd make.

Having a rest in the sun...

So much more impressive!

We spent hours on a cliff watching the antics of these little guys. They were awesome - it was hard to leave. The way they landed was hilarious. They hovered for a moment or two just before landing, and as soon as they landed they seemed somewhat surprised that they actually made it. They spread their wings and kind of relaxed into the grass - almost like a gymnast sticking a landing.

Hours spent laying on our bellies on a rock in the rain with a camera jammed up against our eyes...priceless!

Thanks to Peter Brake for sharing the location...check out his amazing photos of these little guys!

A piece of spent brass hovers above a sandbag as U.S. Marine Gunnery Sgt. Ajiboye Magbagbeola, the Regimental Combat Team 5 combat camera chief and native of Roxbury, Mass., fires his M4 carbine assault rifle during a combat marksmanship training evolution here, Feb. 2. Marines and sailors of RCT-5 shot their weapons to calibrate for a battle sight zero, ensuring the accuracy of their optics, and executed various combat marksmanship drills during this training evolution. The training is designed to sharpen basic combat skills as RCT-5 begins the second half of its deployment.

The interior of this container is so reflective that the bottom appears to be a deep well, and anything placed on it appears to be hovering. Photo doesn't do it justice because I couldn't find a way to hide the camera. The tangerine segment appears much larger than it really is relative to the size of the container. Circular reflections confuse the camera, as well as the eye!

tell me something about yourself

Hey,how's Bard? Like, do you like it there? I was thinking of applying and I thought that I should ask someone who goes there about what goes on.

i actually really like it. at first i didn't but i'm very adjusted now. i don't know if you're like me but the people there made me feel a lot more comfortable being myself than the ones as packer. a lot of people say the academics are inferior but that's really untrue. the classes are really challenging and it's a lot of work, even compared to packer. the teachers treat you like adults, which is a nice change. it's definitely a great option so it's good you applied, but you should tour it and talk to some teachers to see if you like it yourself.

Hover fly at Caer Lan

Starting to make time for some photography!

Thanks for looking.

I was so pleased to see this cute hover fly enjoying the newly planted Calytrix tetragona we had put in the front garden. While I of course enjoy the plants myself, my primary goal with our endemic native garden is to attract pollinators. I love to watch them live and work! [Lower Blue Mountains, NSW]
