Fun shot near sunset with this seagull trying to brakes on as other seagulls nearby all fight for bread begin tossed into the air by my daughters. This was on Thanksgiving in Baltimore, MD.
Liked the lighting and details on this bird.

Eustenogaster sp., a social wasp that builds a beautiful dome shaped nest and behaves like a hover fly, taking nectar from flowers.
Not the best image and it's more for an ID. There were a few of these hovering on one of my local patches. I've never seen them here before. At first I thought they were hoverflies, but when I reviewed the images I could see they looked like some species of Tabanidae. Any info on the species and behaviour would be much appreciated.

Hover flies doing what all creatures do. These guys seem to like the thrill of doing it on the edge.

As I cut through the park on my way home, I laughed out loud at this leaf seemingly hovering on its own at my eye level. Turns out it was anchored by a single spider web strand and twisting in the breeze. It's the little things that make your day.
