Macro Mondays - Mesh
Here we have the loop of a bow. The ribbon at it's widest is just under 2cm.
Happy Macro Mondays everyone.
I was going to try and do something else for my daily pic, but it's nearly lunch time and I must get on and do some of that dreaded housework ... I'm out and about for the next 3 days, and no housework will get done then.
These are for you, from our garden, as I'm going away on holiday for a few days soon. Off to the Lake District with my lovely sister, Margaret, so I won't be around at all from Saturday 20th for about a week. I'll be very busy in the meantime, getting things ready for our holiday and for her stay with me either side of our trip up there as well - can't let her see how much housework I've neglected ! I do the driving while she navigates so I even have to clean my car - can you imagine !! :o)
This is not textured for a change !

Yet another archive shot due to bad weather and anything rather than do the housework! This was taken at the River Neath near Briton Ferry
Explore Worthy, NEW Series - The Color Green (2021 Art)
From a city bird photo of mine.
I am resting a bit from online presence lately. I have housework in my home and cannot get to everything i want to do without rushing around like an offhead chicken - So i decided to take things easy and just get to what i comfortably can, each day. I'm still around on Flickr, and most likely will be present much more again,in the near future. But at the moment im just chilling, resting and taking things easy. Also its going towards end of Summer here and that brings lots of thunderstorms and with it, power outages and no wifi.

I was the eldest child in our family and for a few years the only child, so my mother spent all her time with me. Long before I went to school she taught me how to cut PAPER DOILIES.
Cutting paper doilies became my passion for months on end, I started with news paper, but a an uncle brought me loads of left over paper from the factory where he worked. The paper came in two colors, bright orang and soft mint. Our house and the houses of family and friends were decorated excessively with my orange and mint paper doilies.
My mother has always been very supportive of my artwork, many of my old aunts used to say she had better taught me some housework.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Should be more participatory in a day or two. Recovering from injuries as well as catching up on overdue housework--the former making the latter a slow process. Apologies, and thank you for your patience.
Thanks for Viewing.
Another shot taken at Dunraven Beach on the same evening as the previous two shots. It is amazing what I can find to do with photography rather than do the housework! A very processed hopefully a surreal and atmospheric feeling to this shot!
Its funny how I decided to ditch the housework while I had a kid free day today and then made my focus housework themed pictures in SL. Weirdo lol

Taken at the National Botanic Gardens of Wales earlier this week. We have had some unusual very still and misty conditions - love days like this. I am slowly going through the many shots I took that day - anything rather than catch up with my housework!!!
"We don't need more to be thankful for, we just need to be more thankful."
Carlos Castaneda
I often find myself reframing my thoughts when facing a task, especially one as mundane as housework. Instead of filling the sink with warm sudsy water and thinking "I HAVE to do the dishes"...I change the thought to be "I am thankful I have dishes to wash." It works in all sorts of situations in life. Try it. You might be surprised that you are more thankful for your life than you knew!
My thanks to a former student who shared that thought with me. Teachers learn more from their students than perhaps the students learn from their teachers.
Having enjoyed a good roll around my frosted garden on Saturday morning, I dragged myself back indoors to do some housework, but I was immediately distracted when I went to start on the dishes, and remembered I'd been waiting for more frost, so I could try some more frozen bubbles. I was glad to still have the dishes to do when I got back indoors, to thaw my frozen fingers!
This is one of the first images I took, just as the bottom of this bubble was starting to frost on the decking outside the patio doors, which are reflected in the bubble, along with the top of my head!
I like how the cottage is reflected the right way up on one side of the bubble, and upside-down on the other... yet the side with the upside-down cottage has trees above it that are the correct way up---puzzling
I had another photo ready for this Macro Mondays challenge but when I went down the garden path this morning I spotted these tiny new alchemilla mollis leaves glistening after last night's rain, so plans just had to be changed. (and housework didn't get done again!)
There's a small library in my town
A very nice brick building with some lovely landscaping and gardens.
But my favorite part....besides the books....is this boardwalk area that borders the parking lot, and brings you thru the uncultivated thicket.
This was taken over a week ago when the trees had begun shedding. By now, almost all the leaves are on the ground.
But it's a beautiful little walk in all seasons.
I'll be taking a short break from Flickr.
Things to do. Garden needs to come up and be put to bed, there's something I'd like to get back to reading, another at home volunteer project, a pile of paperwork, and ugh housework.
I hope we soon will be shedding a dismal time we've been in.
Stay well. See you in a bit.
Starting the day with a lit scented candle and thinking happy thoughts ~before I start my housework ~~
Searching for Food.
Sorry for the post and go. I've been feeling rather ill in the mornings, busy with housework during the day, and exhausted in the evenings these last couple of days. I'll get caught up.
Thanks for Viewing.
It is amazing what I can find in the archives when trying to avoid doing the housework! This was taken a while ago at Three Cliffs Bay - named after the rock formation with 3 peaks.

... Plants that are in flower. Chosen by Paul Goodhall MM3JFM Paul Goodhall.
The Blackthorn blossom is doing well in the car park, (my nature reserve). There isn't as much as usual this year, as the trees all had a good pruning at the end of last year. It was needed.

So I could not decide if these are transport, race or game broomstick as used in Harry Potter series. Actualy I found a video describing 22 different broomstick manufacturers and broom sticks

This little girl (9 weeks old tomorrow) came storming into our lives last Wednesday night! Wow she is amazing. She is already house trained. Has learned the most basic commands (sit, paw, lie down, come, bed) and very eager to learn. Very very clever. She is bundles of fun and joy. Currently having her play time which lasts around twenty minutes then she’ll sleep for a couple of hours! As I’ve managed to catch up on housework this morning I shall catch up on Flickr and emails during her next nap! Hope everyone is doing well!! Sending puppy hugs xx
I made this little wishing well last year and just came across this shot. I love the evening light but when I move my props to new locations the squirrels are not as interested in coming to explore. The well (with a squirrel of course) will be featured in a scene in my next book due out in January 2017... a love story in time for Valentine's day. I just finished submitting everything to my publisher ( I hope!) It has been a very, very busy week and now maybe I can get some housework done and tidy and get ready for Christmas
(113/366) This fence is the boundary between our garden & the adjacent field. Blackcurrant bushes are almost in flower, Field Maple leaves are unfurling, Gorse is in full bloom & small Beech tree is holding onto a few brown leaves HFF!
Also for my new group Gorgeous Golden Gorse
Apologies for my lack of comments, we have 2 viewings tomorrow & the B&B is fully booked so I've been snowed under with housework
7th April 2021:
Sunny again today, but still very cold. I sat in the garden with Izzy for a short time this morning and saw one of our Collared Doves in the neighbouring apple tree.
Thankfully I'd taken my camera out with me and managed three photos, this being the one that came out the best. A bit too far for a real clean photo.

It is amazing what I can find to do rather than do the housework! I have been going through some old flower shots and came across this. I think it was shot with extension tubes on a macro lens - just a very small detail of a flower. A bit of a Marmite shot - love it or hate it!!!
a little tour with my Sony RX100M6 to gather ideas for
CrAzY Tuesday: selective colour
and now for some housework...
What a miserable day here so instead of getting my housework done I have been going through my archives. This is very much a Marmite shot taken at Aberavon looking towards Port Talbot Docks. Taken on a very high tide with quite a rough sea running so thought I would do a long exposure and try to soften the industrial feel to the shot! Please feel free to criticise!!
This Northern Flicker was removing dried grasses from a cavity, apparently in preparation for nesting. This intriguing behaviour was witnessed in Carburn Park, Calgary, Alberta, Canada. The bird doing some ‘housework’ here is a male of the red-shafted form.
Yes, the photoshop elves added the hat...this fellow is wild ..not a pet like some I have seen...so it takes lots of patience to get him to climb on the sleigh, looking towards the camera. But it sure is a fun way to relax (and avoid housework) Not I am all ready for the big day with my family and grandsons tomorrow. Hope you all have a [peaceful and happy Christmas, or just a great day if you don't celebrate Christmas. :-) Thanks for all the visits and comments over the year..sorry I have been less active.

So how come I was outside with my camera?
Raindrop on Redbud blossom. This is for Violet Illusion. A little bird told me that she loves raindrop images.
So... Today was going to be a 'housework' day, but I had one of those annoying little voices in my head that kept saying 'That river warbler shot was pants'... And 'who cares about doing housework anyway, it can keep for another month or two'... So I gave in to the urge, put the duster down and headed back out to Ham wall. The warbler was still showing well and managed some much 'better shots' than Fridays efforts. Still can only be regarded as record shots, but it's a 'Lifer' and the first seen on mainland Britain for more than a decade. :@]
