Decided to change the rubber strap for seasonal reasons. White is for snow, red is for darn, red hot summer....
A lost wall reaching into Argal Lake - revealed due to the very low water level after our dry summer.
Taken just after sunset (Blue Hour) with a two and a half minute exposure to completely flatten the ripples - emphasising the reflection of the sky and isolating the stones.

Thought I'd get out into the South Florida Wetlands... had been a little while. We are so lucky to see so many amazing species! On any given morning I can see many different birds right in my own backyard. One of my favorites is the Tri-colored Heron. What a life it has. Starts out as an ugly little thing, turns into a reddish juvenile, and ends up a beautiful blue adult. Three really different stages. Above is a young juvenile testing his new wings with short flights. He's only a few months old.
At this early stage he starts acting and feeling like... a young prince!

The Tricolored or Louisiana Heron does not swim but wades in deep water. Audubon called this bird "Lady of the Water" because of its grace and beauty. It resembles the Great Blue Heron but is much smaller and more delicate. Its white belly clearly distinguishes it from all other Herons. It strides briskly through the water, sometimes running after fish and catching them with a thrust of the bill. This action is so fast that it can only be caught with a shutter speed of 1/4000th of a second! Their chicks have a reddish coat but turn blue with age.
The name Louisiana Heron is very misleading because it also lives in coastal states from North Carolina to Texas, and especially in Florida.
Back again to Blijburg fior the first time this summer. The beach had moved from where it has been the last few years and the area is a =bit smller, but still very pleasant. I had a snooze under the sun and when I woke up again I was quite disoriented and I almost felt I had travelled back four years in time when I spent all those days on thios beach back in 2006 (when I didn't haev a job and didn't have to work and when the weather was so good!). Anyway, even though Fred doesn't like it, I was glad to be back!
Can we go for a swim please?
Summer came to germany the last days. We have unusual high temperatures about 33° Celsius, which is really not Hugos well-being-temperature ;-)
Our kids are playing in the pool whole day and Hugo is dreaming of doing the same. Poor boy.
Will go for a swim with him in the late evening hours in the river near our home. We did the first splash this morning at 6:30 - great fun.
youtu.be/vATLlSPnGxE This summer is too hot. I came out on a boat to feel the breeze of the sea, but the sun shining on me is closing in.

Day 20 of 30 Days of Gloom.
It's the last week of August, and the heat is still hitting different. This is that late-summer, "too hot for clothes" kind of vibe.
The base for this sun-soaked look is the sharp Blade Skin from Gloom. Paired it with the rugged Anakin Hairbase from Volkstone and the incredible Chuck Tattoo from Bolson to complete the look.
...and yeah, that's the Candy Man G-String from Varsity.
Because when it's this hot, less is always more.

The hard summer sun brings up all shadows even of the smallest structures.
Summer in the city usually means a half-empty city, just how I like it. Here, a Peglica, polish-manufactured Fiat 126, somewhere in Novi Zagreb.

Edited for a 'look' of minimalism and glowing softness.
I just loved how the afternoon HOT sun lit this plant up under my porch roof.

Taking pictures with a phone is so practical and usable (quality-wise) these days. Laziness being what it is, especially in a hot Japanese summer, I do from time to time, photo with my phone (no heavy gear to carry), like this one.
