- In the winter it has always been a good Dutch tradition to skate and afterwards drink a hot choco cream or eat a bowl of pea-soup with smoked sausage.
This year we are breaking December heat records, so no chance to skate, but I keep the food traditions alive.
Why ? Simply because I can and... I like it !
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

" Pneuma (breath hot), in ancient Greek philosophy was a mixture of air and fire. The concept of pneuma was already used in Aristotelian biology and medicine, among others to explain the processes of breathing and movement. In this concept the Stoics attributed the function to hold together, compact, the two persons, water and earth: what happened to the tension (tonos), stated that the tires between the different parties. It made, therefore, the universe, a dynamic continuum, a sort of one great living being, by this route constantly blowing hot. Hence the interdependence between all parts of the universe, which the Stoics called sympathy (sympathy) in the sense that each event affects every other part of the world".
Model: my cat Isotta, in a big yawn, very bored by the photo session. ;-)
In film photography what you see in red on negative turns out blue on positive prints! This is an image of blue water, when inverted in photoshop it turns boiling red.
It only takes a snap for us humans to flip, from calm loving to angry beast.
Heating elements inside a toaster. Taking this shot proved quite difficult. It was difficult to light and had to work quickly not to damage my lens. Also the heat waves being produced made some of the image a little blurry.
HMM
Tons chauds
I'm not really inspired this week with the Macro Mondays theme Hot/Cold... Anyway, I try! :)

Due to global warming, it's really hard to bear this burning hot weather. It's not only for us humans, as well as the every living being in the this world..
This is a crop and edit from a close-up shot of a natrual water spring I found during my snowboarding trip to Bulgaria last month.
The breeze separated these drops across the snow, and gave me the opportunity to get real close.

Borovets, Bulgaria
Many people already made that kind of shot, but I think I'm the first one who did that with a red savina habanero!
Happy 2009 to you! :)

Psychedelic sunrise
This is one of those 'failed' water drop shots - it reminded me a little of some sunrise shots I've taken on beaches in the past, but with added colour! I'm thinking that this is going to end up as a 12" x 16" blow-up on my office wall :-)
This is SOOC, cropped a little, no other adjustments.
I call it 'Psychedelic Sunrise'

August 2015
Really took my time this trip to get some different shots of things that have been photographed a lot. Awesome little montane rattlers
The Mohave Western Pondhawk is one of the most dangerous dragonflies in Arizona. It is easy to spot, look for the sparkling wings. If you listen very carefully you can even hear the rattle in the tail just before it STRIKES! Or is it tale, just before it strikes?
Cop-o-Tea. It is the easiest thing to make in my dorm room that is warm and tasty. For those of you wondering it is Tazo Passion and Wild Sweet Orange mixed together, it is very good.
It's going to be a scorcher here today. Thought I'd post a nice refreshing shot for those who need a break from the heat.
Summer picture a day 74/92.
For the Macro Mondays challenge "Hot/Cold" (June 20th 2016)
There are hot colours and cold colours!
a Happy Red Hot Macro Monday to everyone ;o)
Hot Metal typesetting was still the way the way the type was set for printing, when I started lecturing to Journalism students in the 1970s. And it came to mind when I was shooting this tiny piece of red ribbon from a bouquet of flowers. Hot metal has been completely replaced by computers, and it seems like another age ;o)
Link to a larger shot of the ribbon is in the first comment field, from the MM 8th anniversary theme last year!
