« Horizons Listeners » est une installation artistique représentant deux créatures mythiques ( 6m de haut) des montagnes qui se tiennent par la main et regardent vers l'horizon. Symbolisant l'unité, l'amour et l'exploration partagée, elles inspirent la réflexion sur les voyages personnels et collectifs.

"Il y a une certaine saveur de liberté, de simplicité... une certaine fascination de l'horizon sans limites, du trajet sans détour, des nuits sans toit, de la vie sans superflu." (Théodore Monod).
Cloud and mist tinged with a little wood fire smoke shroud the valleys of the border ranges as the sun sets.
On Otama beach, one of the jewels of the Coromandel.
The evening this photo was taken we played on white squeaky sand, marvelling at the lack of any haze in the air. This slow pan ICM took a few tries to get the horizon line sharp whilst retaining a ghostly view of Great Barrier Island in the far distance, whilst not blurring out the waves too much. The colours are true. And as the sun set and we headed off in search of food along the washed out and precipitous coast road.
There’s a heartfelt unapologetic defiance in the lyrics of this break up song. I’ve seen Aldous live just once and she just doesn’t compromise on the truth in her performance.
This song has been swirling between my ears this week, as I turn to face the subject.
Let me put the water in the bowl for your wounds babe …

Being by the sea and watching the sun sinking below the horizon is such a peaceful experience . This sunset was taken on Agonda Beach, Goa. I feel a sense of calm just looking at it.

Thank you to everyone who pauses long enough to look at my photo. All comments and Faves are very much appreciated
I took this this morning, bright and early with the sun still low on the horizon off to the left of the photo.
A focus stack of two images, one for the fence and one for the barn.

I've had a bit of time to go through the archives this past day or two and I've rediscovered so many fond memories through the years during wanderings with my camera.
This photograph from Iceland aimed to capture the minimal, stark landscape that left such a lasting impression on me during my first visit in 1999. The snow and ice against the cloudy, grey sky attempted to create a unique sense of isolation and tranquility that I'd never experienced before anywhere else in the world. The wonder of geology on planet Earth. The photo attempts to balance even weight between the land and sky with the horizon line sitting right across the middle. Iceland in February; a true winter wonderland shaped by the forces of nature.
