Hook Lighthouse is located at the tip of the beautiful Hook Peninsula at the southern end of County Wexford. There has been a lighthouse tower on the site since the 12th Century making Hook one of the oldest lighthouses in the world.

I came across this lovely anthurium during a visit to an upcountry garden near Kula. There are many varieties of anthurium, but I cannot recall this one's name. This variety is something of a contortionist, twisting and taking various shapes. The photo was taken in March 2016, with my trusty Olympus digital camera. Enjoy.

Maybe the last bug of the year?

This is a Hook-Tipped moth of some kind but not sure which one. There are a whole lot of these moths that look very similar. I think it may be an Oak Hook-Tipped Moth.
