The boy was actually happily banging on carpet selections and munching pretzels, right up until the moment I said, "cheese!"
While we had the gate off, we painted the side we hadn't already done. My trigger finger is numb from the spray can - how do the graffiti kids do it?
We have this ridiculous old concrete slab in our side yard -- it's where the old landing for a stairway used to be (this has been moved since the house was renovated).
Anyway, it's a huge tripping hazard in the dark and when I try to move trash cans in and out. I figure it's time to remove it. I rented a demolition hammer from Home Depot and went to work. That thing is FUN.
This is the termination of the ground wire from the antenna on the roof. It's attached to the master ground coming out of the electrical meter on the house.
here are the swatches that i picked out for my new and improved office...i am wondering if i should do all one color or one color for each wall...hmmmmmmmm

This is why we had to hire professionals. This drain pipe and vent pipe were running through the old base cabinets and need to be re-routed into the wall. Note the lovely crumbling plaster above the vent stack. I didn't do that... it was like that when I ripped the cabinets out.
I've hated this bathroom since we moved in last year. Ugly wallpaper, stinky old toilet, dark woodwork. BLAH.
The tile has been sealed! (look for the glossiness of the counter...) Was simple, just brush on, wait half an hour, brush on again, then wipe off after twenty minutes and let cure for 24 hours. I had to wait this long because according to the sealer's instructions the grout has to cure for one week before it can be sealed.
And I have found somewhere to order the outlet cover plates for the two outlets on this wall since Lowe's doesn't have them in stock and doesn't offer on the website anymore, plus the maker's website says that Ace and True Value and Home Depot and Walmart stores/websites also carry their products but they don't!!!
So tomorrow the sink goes in. See ya in twenty-four.
I snapped this photo from the garage because I was so pissed off. Yep, it's a drought, and it's over a hundred degrees outside, and it's late afternoon, the worst time of day to water--but the assholes down the street still have their built-in sprinkler system running. Mustn't let the lawn suffer! It's thanks to jerkoffs like these that I expect the entire Great Plains to collapse into a sinkhole before I retire.
Then there's the lack of sidewalks, the layouts that force you to drive everywhere, the lack of recycling...let's move on.
Bathroom wring still to be finished - Well that's what I presume the random hole in the wall is for,

I got a little worried as I neared the end of the project as it appeared that my tile supply would only barely meet my needs. As it turned out I had 1 complete tile left. That didn't leave much room for error but it does mean that we minimized our cost by only getting exactly what we needed.
The tile needs to be wiped down. As the project wore on the tiles became more covered in tile dust which is why the color doesn't seem that uniform. All that is left now to do is apply the grout.
