My American Girl "Grace" is an AG Truly Me #53. I changed her wig when I purchased her. She is in the AG wig they used for their character doll "Marie Grace". My Grace is named after my great grandmother, not the wig.

Grace is wearing Kit's hobo outfit. I recently purchased the "Ascension" flour sack patterned bag that is a part of the accessory set for this outfit. At this time, I don't own the rest of the accessories that go with this set because of the price of discontinued items.

Instead of putting the original items in the bag, I put Molly's Mess Kit in the bag. It is a part of Molly's Camping Equipment set. Mess kits were invented in 1908 in Germany, and were available during the 1930's. YooHoo chocolate drink was created in 1928, so it was also available in the 1930's.

Grace is enjoying her hobo lunch of fried chicken legs, a peach, a corn muffin, and her Yoohoo drink with the mess kit dishes. The blue quilt in the background was made by my mom, who was not born until 1947.

Close-up of "Long Hair Hobo No. 2" (2008) by Allison Schulnik. Paintings are so much more than a photograph of them can ever convey. I urge you to go see this gripping work in person at the Musée des Beaux-Arts de Montréal. See also www.allisonschulnik.com.

This bag coulda/shoulda been easy peasy but I made it way more difficult by NOT following directions. Lots of sewing, ripping, sewing...wash, rinse, repeat. Lots of mistakes, one of which resulted in adding the magnetic tab closure. I also added piping which made sewing a little tricky at one point.

I LOVE how it turned out though! :o)

This train reminds me of the John Lee Hooker song 'Hobo Blues'.

It looks like a hobo cat snuck into my photos this morning. Can you spot the poor little kitty forced to huddle a heating vent for warmth?

Jacket, Forever 21. Striped turtleneck, Gap (swap). Dress, Bitten (shortened). Tights, We Love Colors. Booties, Sigerson Morrison for Target. Brooch, vintage. Cat, Sammy.

We keep the house pretty cool, but I doubt the cats suffer in their fur coats. Still, they are attracted to heating vents, down comforters, and warm laps.

Week 2 of Let the Wild Rumpus Last is now up. And another week where I managed to pull off a film post!

I shot an entire roll (a roll = 10 shots) from the Pentax 67 at this location. (Ricky had 1 of the photos) and I loved almost every single one of them.

Of the photos these 2 make me laugh the most. In order for me to get them to stand together I told them to act like they were orphans and homeless and that barn back there is their shack. They totally started playing it up and stood together without much complaint.

Camille decided the photo on the right should be called "Hobo Secrets". Yes. My kid is random.

Hobos Morris dancing in the garden of the Red Lion, at Swanage Festival, Saturday afternoon, 2005. Getting a photograph of Hobos Morris is like herding cats, but video really captures it!

From inside a boxcar we watch as SPC 0-4-0 steam locomotive number 2 passes with a short freight.

Hobo is a Lanneret, a male Lanner Falcon, who lives at Huxley's birds of prey centre. He's not one of the birds regularly used in flying displays, but is currently 'in training'. He was brought out for us to watch, but Hobo had other ideas. Sure, he took to the skies ... but then he kept flying! No amount of calling or swinging the lure could persuade him to come back. A tracking device was brought out and by then he was probably something like 2 miles away! Eventually two people set off in a car to track him down and bring him home. This happens sometimes, but they all have to learn so that they can be flown safely. I'm sure Hobo enjoyed his adventure. Anyway, the proprietor was there and was very apologetic that my friend and I didn't have a chance to photograph birds in flight (no others could come out until Hobo returned), so he said that we can both have free entry for our next visit. So, thank you, Hobo! :))

Spun the wool in the Hobo Room of the Wah Storm Drain. It's a small room and I was standing on top of a rusted out mesh deck thing and I was a bit fearful of it breaking under my spin
