My initial intention was to edited this in a mytical, even slightly threatening way: the usual approach to these woods. But as it progressed I thought of it in a more uplifting way. Happy Hobbits would want more joy in their lives, sparkle & colour. Hence sunshine permeates the dowdy rocks & moss. Who is to say that this is not how it is when we are not looking. After all, them pesky humans mess everything up so we need to fool them to leave us alone.
So my thinking went . . . .
In a hole in the ground, there lived a hobbit....
Another gem on the sim custom made by the awesome Peggetta Resident (Summerfield). Who needs a regular house when you can live like a hobbit!

Time for some more pics from my trip to Iceland back in 2015.
Gjáin...a small, romantic valley with different waterfalls and a stunningly lush vegetation. After discovering the rough and barren highlands for a couple of days, I felt like entering another world when I walked down into this valley.
The inviting decorative crevice into the tree cavern is a false opening; the small cave underneath is the real entrance!
And happy Fall! This is just a little painting I did with cheap paint and a black marker to touch up the silhouettes. Not sure if I’ll do the background.
I recently bought an Asahi Takumar 17mm f4 fisheye lens and Today I got out to see what it can do. An interior shot. I sort of wish my house actually looked round like this.
Very silly, I know. I think you can see the tag on the shoe - it's 3-6 months. I wear a 3 1/2 (kids size) shoe. Just having some fun.
Walking on Dartmoor I came across this strange formation of moss covered stones under the tree and immediately thought of Hobbits, just my vivid imagination.. Thanks for looking
One of my new favorite areas of the sim-- My dear friend (cuz) Peggetta has put in so much awesome work on this area and it just pops! Lovin the Hobbit house and surrounding gazebo area!

Actually, this was the entrance to the main building of The Ulaman on Bali. The round opening reminds one of the round doors of the hobbit houses.
The North Door of St Edward's Church, Stow on the Wold, is famous for its resemblance to Durin's door in the first volume of the Lord of the Rings trilogy.
It is a late addition to the medieval church, having probably been installed in the late 17th or early 18th centuries when necessary repairs were undertaken.
