I suspect this old hinge has been on the window above the garage since it was built 67 years ago.

Decades of repair work have kept this old outhouse functional at a corral on the Crow Creek Road in Bear Lake County. I like the variety of nails and screws that have held it together over the years. You can see a photo of the outhouse in my November 16 post.

This one I found in one of our alleys. Not the usual place I hang out but with friends in the daytime, you can find some interesting things and feel safe.

Sorry I haven't been commenting much the last couple of weeks as my husband has been in hospital again. New medication & change of diet have us almost back on an even keel as they say. I'm thankful the stress has eased for both of us!

I love the evidence of use from colour and texture of the wood, providing stories of what people did to open the door.

This hinge is slowly rusting away in a bunker ar the Hirtshals Bunker Museum in Denmark.
