HIGH SCHOOL YEARS: Me, Casey and Brandy at prom junior year. (Interesting that I look tallest in this photo, because I don't think I was.)

so, my friend chaya had this photo project to do in college about personas, so she took pictures of me as a mexican, and as a homo, (hmm, we neglected jew that would have been a fun one to dress up for) and also nude, but don't worry those are not going up here.

Cleaning out my home office today I came across a folder full of B&W photos I took for a high school photography class back in the early 80's.

My first Homecoming dance. I went with three of my girlfriends from middle school, none of whom actually WENT to my high school, because I was so scared and embarassed by life. That's me in the maroon (which at least five other girls were wearing that night) and that's my best best best friend Carol in the blue. Note her expression of relative happiness and contentment versus mine of utter humiliation at being forced to take a group photo, like, Mom, can we just GO already? Jeez!

Marking the end of one chapter in their lives and the beginning of another, the senior class of 2009 graduated from Ross School during a beautiful commencement ceremony in the Great Hall on June 13. Speakers included Founder Courtney Sale Ross, Head of School Michele Claeys, Director of High School Mark Frankel and alumni Nick Appelbaum. The Commencement Address was given by Pedro Noguera, from the Steinhardt School of Culture, Education and Development, Metropolitan Center for Urban Education.

(Found in a box with a bunch of old photos.) Phil Hagel (News), Clayton Knowles (Sports), Dan Pemberton (Sports).

KNHC is the Nathan Hale High School radio station. We were all in school there. Phil and Clay would have been in 10th grade and Dan in 11th, if I recall correctly.

Sports day of the high school

2016:366/005 January 5, 2016

My day job is teaching art to teenagers. It's not as glamorous as it sounds.

Today was the first school day of the second semester. Tired and grumpy kids, tired and grumpy teachers. We have ninety-eight of these days left until summer...not that I'm counting.

Anyway, here's where the magic happens.
