A lone student on a corridor in a middle-school, South Central, Los Angeles during the making of a documentary I directed called 'Reaching'. It had a nice eerie mood to it. One of the most edgy locations I've ever shot in...During the shoot there was a 'lock-down' - which meant locking all the students into the school because there was a shooting in the neighborhood a few blocks away. Not an uncommon occurrence. God love the poor pre-teens who had to walk in there every day. And the staff...That being said - the Headmaster we interviewed was one of the most inspiring people I've ever met.
