A lone student on a corridor in a middle-school, South Central, Los Angeles during the making of a documentary I directed called 'Reaching'. It had a nice eerie mood to it. One of the most edgy locations I've ever shot in...During the shoot there was a 'lock-down' - which meant locking all the students into the school because there was a shooting in the neighborhood a few blocks away. Not an uncommon occurrence. God love the poor pre-teens who had to walk in there every day. And the staff...That being said - the Headmaster we interviewed was one of the most inspiring people I've ever met.

Two of our GrandChildren returning to School. Both of these were homeschooled from the 1st Grade. This is Alyssa's first time in a classroom, other than Sunday school at her Church.
Jeremiah will be graduating and is preparing to get off to College.
Seems like only yesterday they were just little ones.
