A good contemplation corner. as you listen to the water coming down under the bridge and to the left in the gorge the River South Esk.
Tower number one of the "highlight" munich. It was a little dark this day and the reflections did not realy came out. Love the see the blue on the glass is much clearer than it was in the sky.

Yesterday morning I set out hoping to find some buck in the rut. While I did indeed stumble across a few (including that one that ran across the road in front of my car), I didn't really have any opportunity to photograph any of them. They were all very focused on...finding love...
Right around sunrise, however, I did manage to find this grazing Doe. She posed nicely for me right against the backdrop of the dramatic sunrise. The light was still very low and I was shooting some pretty difficult settings, handheld, but I think this ended up turning out pretty interestingly, giving her an almost laser-like outline.

Quite a good year for invertebrate photography, though there were several reminders that insect populations are changing and many are suffering serious losses.
Thank you all for your comments and faves!

This year brings you four HighLights in The Hague’s city centre. Each having a different story to tell. Here’s a sneak peak of what to expect…
An image from last Year out looking for highlights and contrasts under the canopy. On many visits to woodland I find myself fighting the intense contrasts of light but on this day clearing mist helped soften this capture.
All I had to my disposal was my trusty highlighter and my blue notebook. Cashed that in as my shot and now off to work. What's the bets that today is the day when everything in the office is Orange/Blue ;-) HMM!
A highlight of our short stay in Hong Kong was visiting the new Tai Kwun Centre for Heritage and Arts. It is in the restored Central Police Station. It included an excellent art exhibition.
I spent some time here trying to get a photo without people. But in the end that didn't happen, but I liked this one with just one person.
The view from the landing at old Fulton Street in Brooklyn is a killer. Just below the Brooklyn Bridge and overlooking the East River, the marina boasts of not just the Manhattan skyline but also of the incredible Brooklyn Ice Cream Factory. I could not have enough of their homemade treat- a cold treat even in such a cold time.

Hi, this is my entry to Macro Monday's for May 11th, theme "gold or Silver".
I tried various objects from rings to cup edges then I noticed small glass figurine in a display shelf. Photographing glass is a challenge if you don't want to get highlight from the bulbs. I still have a lot to learn on this subject... this item was shot with 3x50w day light LED bounced off a white card and focus stack in camera. Lots of dust bunnies were cleaned out in Photoshop.
I hope you like it.
More leaves and swirly highlights from my Ricoh lens...
Shot at f2, again, with a nice softening effect and lots of highlights...
If I get out tomorrow and it's sunny I'll try and shoot some more film: eventually, I hope to try this lens on a Pentax Z-1 film camera. All these plans.

Inspired by my friend Ian (RZ68) I picked up a medium format camera earlier this year and began shooting with it. Unlike many other photogs I began shooting with a digital camera first and now find myself working backwards. I believe that understanding film is important to me as I grow as a photographer. Plus you can make one hell of an enlargement :)
Here is a shot I took at Emerald Bay using a Mamiya RB67 on the same morning as the shot I posted a few weeks ago. The thing I liked most about the previous shot was that mid blue, blue hour color that was reflected across the lake. This shot was taken a bit later so I did not have quite as much blue, but I did get some great color from the clouds which reflected in the bay.
I still have much to learn about film and shooting medium format, but as I progress I will be posting more on flickr. Thanks again for stopping by!
