The 2023 PEN America Literary Awards took place at The Town Hall in New York City on March 2, 2023. Since 1963, the PEN America Literary Awards have honored outstanding voices in fiction, poetry, science writing, essays, biography, children's literature, translation, and drama.
The ceremony was hosted by acclaimed actor, author, and former Obama White House aide Kal Penn. Tina Fey, nine-time Emmy Award winner and one of the greatest comedy writers of her generation, received the 2023 PEN/Mike Nichols Writing for Performance Award.

I took my new little beauty outside today to try to capture the color of her hair and the color of her eyes better then the last picture.
She quietly wandered around while I followed her with the camera, trying to capture her true personality.
It is such a change going from trying to keep up with Yotsuba (while she runs around like a wild child) to following Hangry around.... Hangry is like me, she slowly wanders around, taking everything in and day dreaming.

I heard about highlighter tape on a podcast (may have been the Webs one).
It has been very helpful for keeping track of what row I am on.
I ventured into the woods behind the house today not expecting to find much of anything and I was not disappointed. I did find several small mushrooms in protected (from the weather) places, but will wait till I get a hard drive in this computer to upload them as the "live cd" doesn't have my fav photo cropping program.
Car was red, then ended up blue sometime in its life. Owner lightly sanded the edges to reveal red pin-stripes. The closer you got the cooler the effect.
Probably the highlight of the buffet was these delicious swimmers. Laura did tell me what they were.
Teeny fish (you can eat them whole in mouthful) that have been smoked and picked. Gorgeous.
Learning to use spectral highlights (top left). Needed a subject matter for the foreground. I opened the window to let in some diffuse light to frontlight the subject. I think this looks kind of cool, like a print ad?
