Just returned home from Yellowstone/Grand Tetons. While we didn't see an abundance of other wildlife, the number of bison we saw in the herds was appoximately 400.

Buffaloes causing an early morning traffic jam at a waterhole near Punda Maria in the far northern section of the Park.
Buffalo herds can have significant ecological impact on the veld. Being a bulk grazer, they are responsible for converting long grasslands into short grassy environments conducive to other browsers with more selective feeding habits.
The boy here, the older of two brothers, was just starting his foray into herding. He was, however, still a boy and loved to jump around and play with us.
He and his brother escorted us to our next destination, about a 30 minute walk through the national park.
