Zohar Productions provided Moroccan decor, centerpieces, entertainment and lighting for a henna party held at Temple Torah in Little Neck, NY.
In Morocco and other countries throughout North Africa and the Middle East, a traditional henna ceremony is a popular Jewish tradition held several days before the wedding ceremony. After guests share a meal, henna dye is painted on each woman's palm, symbolizing fertility, good luck, and protection agaist the evil eye. Leaves of the henna plant are crushed into a dough, which, when mixed with waterm becomes a paste that will stain a person's skin orange.

A really lovely bridal client from this summer wanted to throw a party for her girlfriends and had me come do henna. I love doing henna at gigs like this because I get to meet really cool women and I get to really take my time on each design.
hopping for the better to come .. in 2 days !

I always feel blessed that i'm asked to leave my "marks" on a womans' very special day in life, that she will never forget.......to be a part of that experience makes me humble and gives me the energy to put all my effort in creating a lovely design that complines her wishes....www.handoffatima.nl
this weekend Neeta used a lot of feathers which are incredible in her patterns but also many of these sweet little daisies sprinkle in the patterns like, well, sprinkles. they gave a really feminine look - just great!
Fatima's Fessi Fusion in summer 2012, some henna art on my inner wrist. Henna design by Fatima Oulad Thami. www.handoffatima.nl

@ Moroccan henna party, most of the time not the best circumstances to make beautiful henna, think about loud music, to much people, everybody's dancing, singing, clapping, making pics...and nobody can really sit still so then being a henna artist is really challenging :) Bit it can be fun too and all the beautifull dresses make always such a nice entourage in the pics...just love it...:)....visit www.handoffatima.nl for more information!
