A hedge of spirea, I'm always looking forward to the time when the hedge flowers.

Initially, couldn't make my mind up, between house or tree sparrow, but having spent a disproportionately long period (nearly two minutes. An age for me!) have plumped for the Passer domesticus, the good old house sparrow. A sunny (yes sunny) February afternoon, Thrupp, Oxfordshire

This (admittedly somewhat mediocre) capture is meant as a shoutout to klickpix70 who is not only the real master of PEZ-shots but also a genius when it comes to effective lighting. Take a look at his photo stream - lots to learn and enjoy there!

This 35 foot waterfall flows over a basalt lava flow from nearby Mt. Shasta. The trail to the falls continues on around it.

Happy Waterfall Wednesday.!

Twining around other plants to seek out the light

Hello Everyone!

Lilacs are spring-blooming perennial flowers and in Winnipeg, there are tons of varieties, from the very large to some very small bush-style plants. They come in many colours most ranging through the pinks and purples. Lilacs are very popular cutflowers even though they don't last too terribly long in the vase.

This is a small section of a huge multi-coloured hedge which was about 14 feet high and at least 80 feet long. It smelled like heaven.

Thanks for looking and for your comments. I do LOVE hearing from you! Have a wonderful day and week ahead!

A huge long hedge with a small post box in the neighborhood

I love our hedge when in its autumn robes.

Due to long-term poor health I'm unable to take on new contacts but do my best to reply to comments. Thank you so much for your interest, comments and favours on my photostream. Also for your good wishes. I send you joy and peace.

Part of the Christchurch Flower Festival

The last time I was here was in 2015. Not a lot has changed, in or outside of the home. I was planning on taking some film shots of this place, but my camera batteries flaked out. Luckily, I had my little back up with me. This will be the last time I photograph this particular place. It's been fun!

Loved this hedgerow for ages, never photographed it in the snow though.

The Dunnock (Prunella modularis) is a species of bird in the genus Braunellen, the only genus in the family of the same name Braunellen (Prunellidae). The Dunnock is a widespread and common breeding and summer bird in Central Europe, but because of its inconspicuous plumage it is usually conspicuous only by its vocalizations. In some areas of Central Europe it is even an annual bird. Dunnocks are especially common in young spruce stands. In the mountains, they occur as far as the knee timber region. Wiki
