My first shoot out in the rain with my 1DMk3. I was very nervous, but I trusted my technology and all is well!
Here is a shot on goal by Sophomore Julie Kaim.

Header, steer and heeler line up for (finally!) a decent shot of team roping. I find this the most difficult of rodeo events to photograph. It just never seems to fit in the frame right.

I meant to put together and post on my blog the photos for the first assignment for the new photography class at Big Picture Classes I've signed up for (I'm finally going to learn the basics about photography and camera settings) when I realised that I had done it completely wrong. And why? Because, as usual, I never read things properly through. But at least that explains why some of the pictures turned out completely wrong... :-). So I have to start all over again and take the pictures again. As they have to be taken during the day, I can't do it before Friday, on my day off.
So I decided to spend the evening trying to design a blog header of my own for my blog instead. Once you know how to create layer masks, it isn't really a big deal. At least not if you're doing such a basic desing as I have done here. And I can already see lots of things that could and should be improved. But that's the cool thing about creating your own stuff. You can just change, improve and adjust it as you wish. And for a first try, I'm really quite pleased with the result :-).
My blog still needs a lot of work too - a good title, among others...
I'm learning how to do your own brushes and textures as well at the moment. I hope to be able to upload and share some of them soon! :-)
